Anti-terrorist fighter charged as terrorist

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-12-04/ashley-dyball-says-charged-as-terrorist-de...

Australian anti-Islamic State (IS) fighter Ashley Dyball says he has been charged as a terrorist and will be deported from Germany to Australia.

Dyball, from Brisbane, has posted on social media saying he is being sent to the Eisenhüttenstadt Detention Centre and will be on a flight back to Australia in two days' time.

"If anyone has a good german [sic] lawyer help a brother out been charged as a terrorist," he wrote on Facebook, under his alias Mitchell Scott.

The 23-year-old has been fighting against IS forces with a Kurdish militia called the YPG in northern Syria, but was apparently travelling through Europe during a break from the battlefield when he was detained.

His family wants the Federal Government to grant an amnesty under the tough foreign fighters legislation to those battling the Islamic State group.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance "to an Australian man detained in Germany".

"Due to privacy constraints, we will not comment further."

People know the consequences of travelling overseas to fight in a foreign conflict....You cannot choose which laws to follow and which one's to disregard....IMO he has not broken the law as it stands as ISIS is not the recognised government of a country???

Quote:
Mr Dyball’s current legal situation is precarious with Australian foreign laws meaning it is a crime to join armed groups fighting to overthrow the recognised government of a country.

Seems to be another one as silly as David Hicks was. Done about the same thing and got caught.

As far as I can see he hasn't really done anything to be prosecuted for either but common sense has little to do with Australian law in this area anymore.

Seems to me the ultimate political correctness

Sometimes it seems that we don't know who our enemies or our friends are at this point in time.

It's a risky business......friends today, foe tomorrow.

No people who do this sort of thing are more likely nutters who want to play with guns but are rejected by Australia's armed forces because of mental instability.

The YPG has an active recruitment program - specifically targeting westerners. So its not surprising a few get lured over.

The Kurds are fighting the terrorists this is another example of madness from our polticians.

Look at all those young men who fled the Islamic state to become country shopping economic migrants, the Kurdish women picked up guns and fought back against the goatfvckers.

At 1 min 35 sec the man in the pic with the yellow background is that filthy kuffar atheist Abdullah Ocalan who is the founder and leader of the PKK.
These are the people he helped,do they look like terrorists?
