Interesting that some of our less than enthusiastic about refugee members are waxing nostalgic about the Voyage of the Damned.

It was precisely this incident and others like it that saw the drawing up of the UNHRC Refugee Convention.

Mistakes of the past anybody?

The link is in the histories cods. The Germans from 1935 to1938 were happy and willing to deport Jews, except those they saw as communists or dangerous intellectuals. But there were no takers. The British, Australians & Americans were to a greater or less degree antisemitic. And the Brits were fearful of trouble in Palestine if more were sent there.

I have never heard of it sorry.....seems odd that they took them in when war began...

Korrect, Bobby.

We mustn't let our imaginations wander with ideas that might frighten the horses.

Cool

Then -  what is the final solution to the Muslim question?

Ship them all to Iran where they can be with their buddies?

when the UN convention was initiated.....we didnt have terrorism to worry about.. did we...

war was over JUST...and everyone was sickened by it....

and yes GERMAN concentration camps were very much on the agenda....and a lot of displaced persons....

you would have had to been there to appreciate what the climate was like....I would imagine...

so to compare those times with today is a bit of a stretch to my way of thinking..

the world has become more violent more sophisticated even the poorest have weapons and power.....

refugees are now a BUSINESS...people smugglers are conning people left right and centre.. and the UN is condoning them...

you really think by us living in the past... will stop the bad guys winning this war????>..

I vant want you to read my lips very carefully, Phil - it will hold you in good stead in future.

I highly recommend to you the book 'The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' by William L. Shirer.

I read it shortly after it came out.

What Shirer does is carefully describe the difference between a Concentration Camp and an Extermination Camp so that the average reader will be disabused of the idea that the two are one and the same. They are not.

But it's true that after the Germans decided on a program of extermination, they continued to use the term 'Concentration' in all their paperwork so as to hide what was really going on in these camps.

Dachau was a genuine 'Concentration Camp' which saw a lot of the inmates released back into the community after they'd served some time there before the war. It was only later that it became an extermination camp.

The solution is make them stay where they are but also for us to live with a clear conscience i.e. their safety

To make them stay there you have to remove the danger

Iraq and Lybia has proven that radical Islamic terrorism is like a weed and you cannot physically destroy it 100%. So you need a gardener around to maintain peace and order

This is where the political solution comes in. You have to negotiate with a group of rebels that can work together who will act as the gardener

We also know that the rebels are from different areas and even they don't get along e.g. Iraq

Turnbull and others are working on this before the UN send in the ground troops

But we need a final solution otherwise
Australia will be turned into Muslim cesspool  with terrorist attacks every 2nd day.

It will be terrible to live here 10 years from now.

I disagree Cods. The people fleeing are fleeing terrorism. Terrorists don't get on leaky boats so they can spend years in detention. These are people fleeing persecution and violence.

People smuggling has always been a business. Nothing new there.

The UNHRC was drawn up with it mind to specifically address the problem of how to deal with the millions of displaced people who roamed Europe at the end of WWII.

None of the signatories had it in mind that it would one day be used by Leftwing self-haters as an instrument for seeding the Western nations with millions of incompatible Muslims.

Take a look at the links I posted Herb....The Jews where being persecuted in Nazi Germany before the war....The fact that the extermination camps came later is ignoring the reality faced by Jews in Nazi Germany....Do you seriously believe that being shipped to a concentration camp was acceptable and the Jews should have just sucked it up....Is being locked up without committing a crime is something you believe was acceptable???

Huh Huh Huh

The signatories had in mind that desperate and displaced people were cared for by the global community.

Precisely what is needed right now.

Deportation is the answer, Bobby.

There are 47 Muslim-majority countries to disperse them amongst. That's a veritable embarrassment of choices for the deportees to nominate for where they would like to be jetted to.

Instead of insane amounts like $14.7 million dollars going towards schemes to save those at risk of suicide - this sort of money could finance the transfer of our Muslim trouble-makers to places out of sight and out of mind somewhere in the Middle East and elsewhere.

The millions in government subsidies that go to our Islamic schools could be redirected to finance the Deportation Scheme.
