As it stands, the big news about this El Nino is that it so hot globally relative to 97-98 when the El Nino event is not as strong as 97-98.

Yes, it may or may not be stronger than 97/98. It doesn't appear, at this stage, to be a "Godzilla".

No the story is that the AGW loons were excited to the point of relying on this el nino to be the biggest, but it is anything but.
