Explaining anything ...

Armpit hasn't explained anything, yet.

He made a statement, and refuses to back it up with any evidence.

"Corporations are subject to far greater scrutiny than Unions are."

I've told him that he is talking complete and utter nonsense, and have provided substantial proof to back up my position.

Armpit has offered nothing, except a white flag.

Be careful - that white flag doubles as his undies and is registered as a deadly weapon.

In the lottery of life, he drew the short stick.

No, that would be either your boyfriend or your wife?

Nothing to support this, then?

"Corporations are subject to far greater scrutiny than Unions are."

They get to see them as soon as they are released.

They are posted out to every single member, and are then posted on the internet so that everybody else can access them.

https://www.awu.net.au/financial-reports

It's covered by legislation:

"Copies of full report or concise report to be provided to members
             (1)  A reporting unit must provide free of charge to its members either:

                     (a)  a full report consisting of:

                              (i)  a copy of the report of the auditor in relation to the inspection and audit of the financial records of the reporting unit in relation to a financial year; and

(ii)  a copy of the general purpose financial report to which the report relates; and

(iii)  a copy of the operating report to which the report relates; or

                     (b)  a concise report for the financial year that complies with subsection (3)."

"FAIR WORK (REGISTERED ORGANISATIONS) ACT 2009 - SECT 268

                     (b)  if a concise report was provided to members--a copy of the concise report; and

Explaining anything to Jack and his girlfriend gweggy is like having a conversation with a pair of planks. Unions are supposed to benefit members, not fraudulently spend their dues. These maggots get paid exorbitant salaries but they still have to steal more. Typical communist doctrine “They’re all equal, but some are more equal than others”….

so you don't think business should be held accountable? ... thanks for playing. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The rabbits are scurrying for their bunny holes. They know their party is riddled with corruption because the unions control it & staff it and the unions themselves are riddled with corruption.

There is no comparison with private industry, none at all.
If it's a publicly listed company, it's remuneration of directors and senior management are on the record for anyone to see.
If it's a private company, it's all a matter for the owners as it should be.

Unions however stand in a relationship of trust with their members (no joke intended) and they clearly breach that trust all the time.

You should do some basic research, before commenting on something you know absolutely nothing about.

All Unions are regularly audited, and their financial statements are published every single year (mailed out to the members), and are easily accessible to all members of the public.

e.g.

http://www.cfmeu.asn.au/your-union/financial-statements
http://www.ieu.asn.au/union-financial-statements/
https://www.nuw.org.au/get-informed/public-notices/financial-summaries
http://www.sda.com.au/media/14-State-Reports.pdf

"The remuneration and benefits for the ten highest paid officers of the union (as defined in section 557Q of the Act)."

http://www.sdaq.asn.au/about-us/financial-disclosure/

If the process is so rigorous then, how come every time a stone is turned over a grub crawls out?

If corporations got the same scrutiny unions did, you'd find whole nests of grubs crawling out, not just the odd grub. The difference is that in private industry it is easier to hide their corruption because they're not accountable to anyone but themselves.

Have you any idea how much bribery is taking place daily? It happens all the time, and no one says anything because to do so would see their job gone, or their contract lost. It's all about you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

Corporations are subject to far greater scrutiny than Unions are. Stop deluding yourself.

don't talk when the adults are talking ... especially when you have no idea.

Your contribution, as usual, is less than enlightening and you clearly have nothing to refute what I said. I accept your surrender.

that's because you said nothing worth refuting ... you're just talking through your arse with no idea what scrutiny either corporations or unions have to go through.

You think corporations are subject to more? tell me how?

I wonder if right wingers here realize there are thousands of Union officials across the country?

Of course some are doing dodgy poo, of course some are outright corrupt, but what do you really have to show for it? A small handful? 5? 10? What percentage is that? 0.1%?

How many hundreds of millions have been wasted on these liberal witch hunts over the years? When these own commissions show more corruption from the companies?

Oh boy a Union got a fine for saying "they'll go to war" and then wrote a sternly worded letter asking to not hire illegal backpackers and did literally nothing else, the thugs.  Roll Eyes

Absolutely.

I've thrown a couple out of my office for being dodgy bastards.

There are bad apples in every barrel.

However, the majority of Union officials do a wonderful job, for relatively low pay.

It would be a very sad place without them.
