A prominent Northern Territory developer has been selected as the preferred tenderer of an area of "prime Crown land" near Darwin.

Annual donor returns to the Australian Electoral Commission revealed Halikos donated $100,000 to the Country Liberals (CLP) and $90,000 to Labor, in 2012-13.

In that same year, director John Halikos also made a personal $50,000 donation to the CLP.

Northern Territory Electoral Commission records show Labor received a $10,000 donation in the last two financial years worth of published data for donors – but the CLP received a total of $200,000 from the company and Mr Halikos in that same period.

It's time they banned political donations

So this developer gives practically the same amount of money to both major parties and all of a sudden the Liberals are taking bribes? you're truly delusional, lol!!!  Grin Grin Grin

same amount of money? maths is not your forte is it?

and I don't think you get it , these companies aren't bribing the libs because they like the libs, they are bribing ALL parties to try and hedge their bets, but with the highest amount usually going to the party they think is most likely to win the next election or most likely to return the favour ...

And who would've thought the Libs would pay it back and some,  well i never .

You mean like when Rudd and then Gillard used taxpayer funds to repay Unions to the tune of $7m for campaign contributions in both their elections and tried to justify it as "training". Sound familiar? Think TURC...

what are you? stupid? Don't bother answering!

Yet another link where it has gone off topic.  But what else is new for the diehard libs when their team has done something wrong.  Start trying to divert attention elsewhere rather than defend the indefensible.

7 million? Is that all?

One of the first things the Abbott government did was give Murdoch nearly one BILLION dollars. Payback, no doubt, for Murdoch helping to get them elected.

When there's eventually a Royal Commission into Liberal party corruption, Liberals WILL end up in jail.
