Cheesy Cheesy

I don't have a problem with your use of the English language, John. Tongue

I love the Aussie accent it is just the BOGAN lot that make me cringe and they give Australia a bad name. Going grocery shopping in the afternoon in your PJs ... and barefoot? Unbelievable. Uncouth is the word, I think. Embarrassed

My wife saw that on her first shopping trip after moving to Australia, she was absolutely gob smacked and so shocked her jaw dropped ...she stood there staring with her mouth wide open, unable to move

I had to pull her away because I thought the girl she was staring at might start something

She came from a country where going to the corner store involved putting on your Sunday best. Now she's almost used to it .

I've never seen such a thing.

And I was born here.

Going shopping in your pyjamas???

For many people that was a long time ago and particularly people in manual labour employment may not have had the need to revisit the lessons in decades.

I tend to get most of them right much of the time but occasionally stuff one up, I also spell terribly.

I find that some of the most literally correct posters typically have the worst grasp of content (tend to have a message that isn't worth the effort) and often have very low comprehension skills. They will reply beautifully to a post they didn't understand at all.

A number of people who have problems with grammar hit the nail on the head with their content, I prefer this to people making stupid posts with great grammar witch whitch which is rather common.

Precisely. You can't judge the content by how prettily it's wrapped.

I have been in a number of suburbs where it is not uncommon. I don't get it and there was a time when I found it embarrassing but seem to have grown accustomed to it.

It does not tend to be sexy PJ's more flannelette or robes but still it isn't what I grew up expecting to see.

That is precisely why he is here.

It's your topic...and as such, he intends to trash it.

Nor can people be bothered reading rants that are very poorly and hastily put together  and it is usually the barbs, rants or hasty put downs that are the worst.

If someone has a clear message and well thought out post but is remiss in the spelling/grammar department they should be listened to without judgment but more often than not it is the feisty ones looking for a reaction who are the worst destroyers of the English language.

Not always ...  but often.

As far as I'm concerned, if something is taught in primary school, it's basic knowledge.

That said but one of the most abusive posters on here dresses it up in finery.

I find grammar is of no indication of abuse.

Except the trolls who don't even try.
