One of the things which could see Malcolm establish a real dynasty is that he follows the 2 worst PM's of all time.

If he can keep his emotions under control.
If he can keep that sneaky cunning street smart brain of his ticking over
He could easily rule for 3 terms.
People wont want to risk more Gillard, Rudd, Abbott types , who were fairly dysfunctional.

Looking good for the conservatives !!!!
thank you to the last 3 failures.

In terms of ranking failures, Abbott isn't nearly as bad a failure as Rudd or Gillard. they will hold top place for generations to come. I reckon that if Abbott had taken over with a budget in good condition, he'd have been able to implement the policies he truly wanted to and he'd have been a two or three term PM.

Are you still checking to see if your Aunt has testicles ?

Had Rudd not faced the GFC he may have been a 3 term PM as well, who knows but the evidence strongly suggests that you are incorrect.

Abbott had been in power during improving times and went quickly backward because of his own failures.

I very much doubt that - very much. Why? He was too much of an egomaniac. Even before his slide down the polls, the hinged door to the Prime Minister's suite at parliament house had been replaced with a revolving one. He just wasn't a people person and sucked at teamwork.

not to mention the Unions hated him...

very early on he signalled that he wasn't going to be a Union Mouthpiece ...

and from there the plotting started...

there was no need to piss cash down the drain during the minor GFC... china's growth rate was still booming and in any case...

when things get tight... you don't spend money like a drunken sailor... sending out cheques to dead people and filthy kiwi's living in NZ for forks sakes...  Roll Eyes

and the 60c feed in tariff when the selling rate was approx. 25c.. what???  Cheesy

I could go on but i'd be here all day..

You know absolutely nothing! You are a waste of space here! There are some good posters here, you bring up the rear a loooong way behind! Cretins are brighter than you.

Remember her?
She still gives me nightmares!! Bloody terrible days!
Right since the day Simon Crean had to warn her for having an affair with the married Craig Emerson and onwards....

Craig was separated at the time but don’t let that stop your flow of bulldust. And it was years and years before Julia became PM.

Mechanic hit the nail on the head with the unions. The revolving door situation can be directly traced to their pull. The reason Shorten’s there can be directly traced too.

Mal has had an easy ride in life. Inherited money. Married money. Acts like he wants to be a lefty, bound by far right extremism. He comes against something difficult he will collapse. His sugar rush is 50:50, to peter out as people realise that his policies are not his own and are wrong for the times, for the country.

who left him money????

I think your confused it was krudd who married money..

tsk tsk monk watch those pills...

Mal Fraser?  Cam from the Victorian landed gentry... silver spoon country....

Rudd married a woman with inside knowledge of the impending government coffers opening for childcare.... you don't imagine she simply hit upon a good line of profit from childcare, do you?  Both 'sides' of politics spread the largess of pending government funding around their mates.... just a little business venture that happens to fall their way.....

It wasn’t child care that she made her money from! Doesn’t anybody here check before rushing to post? Geez!

she made her money after she started a labour hire firm and won a major govt. contract.

It was branch members elected Shorten. Shorten is actually doing very well. But a bedwetter like you wouldn’t see that.

You could be correct about Rudd's chances however it is not credible coming from you after saying that a nutso clown like Abbott could have done the same thing.

they would have handed the cash out to their political donors to help them survive the shortage of customers due to the depression they brought on

Exactly, they would have started handing out big tax cuts to the wealthy. Tax cuts don’t stimulate! Would they have had the sense to guarantee both bank deposits and bank borrowing? Howard & Costello? Doubt it, remember how useless Howard was as Treasurer (doubly so for hokey.)

I reckon $1Trn debt, one bank at least fallen over, unemployment at 10% etc.

That is just about what their plan amounted to.
