I remember when he was championed by the Lefties and held up as a Good Role Model for Australia's Muslim youth.

Good to see you whacking your political bias all over this.

From the link:

Quote:
So far today police in Australia would have dealt with on average

domestic violence matters

What they don't tell you is that 250 of those are from non whites.

I find it extraordinary...how we approach topics such as this one.

I'm a woman and a survivor of middle class domestic violence. I was once married to a passive aggressive perpetrator who was much older than me.

I'm also a Bulldogs supporter.

I failed to see the link with Liberal or Labor etc.

Interesting....

I can relate to that, seriously.

I don't usually intentionally give out details on Forums but, the reason I left my husband in 1981 was because he had become "abusive".

He tended towards "controlling" but I was young and I thought that he was being "considerate" when telling me what I should wear and how I should do my hair, etc.

It wasn't until I had my first (and only) daughter that I woke up. He would never have hurt my daughter but he did begin to "abuse" me, verbally.  Jealousy?

I argued back and, one night, he "head butted" me ...... that was IT.  I carefully arranged to "do something" ....

I left for my Mother's in Melbourne for Christmas on 14 December, 1980.  My husband was overseas on business at the time, so I got out of it by saying that I would go "down do Mum's early" and he could follow later.

I left with a suitcase of clothes and the toys from Santa for my child (just 5).  When he rang at Mum's, I said "It's over".  I was scared of him and what he might do, so I left and went to Mum!

I never went back to Sydney. A friend was visiting rellies in Canberra so I came here and have been here ever since.

Mention whatever you like, however, this thread is about domestic violence.

Why bring religion into it?

Are you suggesting that Christians don't beat their wives?

Iktimal Hage Ali was also another role model for the leftists until she was busted for cocaine.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

White Ribbon Day celebrations-

Other speakers at the walk included Randwick Mayor Scott Nash and former rugby league star Mario Fenech, who spoke of the values instilled in him as a child. “I can still remember my father telling me, ‘Son, real men don’t hit women’.” said Mr Fenech, who was joined by fellow rugby league stars Nathan Hindmarsh, Hazem El Masri and Anthony Minichiello as White Ribbon ambassadors. White Ribbon Day gives everyone an opportunity to make a public stand against domestic and family violence in our communities.

El Masri was a White Ribbon Day ambassador? Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
