Is he trying to buy off the union bloke?

Should he be brought before the commission for corruption?

FARKEN OATH HE SHOULD!!!

Seriously...  what planet do you come from?

Well who approached who and for what motive neither you nor I know dope!

Perhaps the company wanted the union to settle with a weak set of claims so they bought off the union boss.

So who is the biggest crook!

red 4 men employed by the unions have been charged with BLACKMAIL...about 26 are being investigated....

we know what the companies have been doing go back to the AWU and wilson/gillard days...its all there.. paying money under the counter into phony bank accounts...all with shortens knowledge..and desperate measures to shove it under the carpet..

who is guilty the person who offers the bribe or the person that takes it??>...

to be honest it depends on the outcome....is the person offering the bribe being threatened with something unlawful????.....

what is the money that is taken used for??>.

does it better mankind or just one or two????... Angry Angry

come on red open your eyes see the whole picture.

Just making a point cods sometimes all is not what it seems.

I am sure some of the union leaders are crooks.

I also know I had a friend through the family who was the head of a national employer group who admitted to me that he had people that stood over opponents and would give them a hiding if need be (unionists, trouble makers)

So as I said, all is not always as it seems

thats hard to believe when you read about shovels on front door steps...and my god have you seen the size of the 4 men up on blackmail.. one of them lomax played for the Raiders.... my granddaughters boy friend is a laborer on building sites in ACt and his boss was visited by Lomax..I wont tell you what went on....but it wasnt pretty...his ,boss appeared at the royal in Canberra..

the point is red.. its getting worse and uglier....as you know bikes are now employed by the cfmeu...why would you need them????????.....look at that muslim creep that is now choppin g off heads in Syria he also worked for them...... visiting people....this is Australia.. at least it was.

No I don't, cods.  Unlike you, I have been part of a Royal Commission (as in, professionally appeared before) and I know exactly how they function.

The present position is that the Commission itself has no ongoing interest in Shorten other than to consider whether anyone adversely affected by his evidence to date ought be given leave to cross-examine him.

Shorten is still there , could it be possible this expensive witch hunt will have the same outcome as Gillard and the presiding Liberal appointed judge will pass on a verdict of nothing more than an attempt to hand down a credibilty verdict, because they nothing i repeat nothing on them  Smiley

I think so.  I've even gone physically to the hearings, and I have seen what is happening there.  Aussie is right, and I don't get why people here doubt what he says.  It is spot on.

Let the RC run its course , im loving it, but i guarantee the billion dollar bill when we get the actual costings when Labor get back in wont justify stringing up a handful of nobodies , you're showing your bias towards the very organisation that gave you the lifestyle you enjoy now .

That is just so bizarre.  What is the point of telling us about some event and then not telling us.  You expect people to just take your word?  Has you grand-daughter's boyfriend been in contact with the RC.  If not, why not.  If not, why is he covering up illegal conduct?  If he is, he is just as guilty as those who act illegally.

Cods, get persepective here for goodness sake.  This RC is costing millions, and the best they have so far is a handfull of alleged thugs.  Just normal "cost free" police work would have achieved that.    It is insane to suggest that a RC is proiven justified because of the very small fish they have so far apparently caught.

Further, time will tell whether anyone is convicted of any offence.

That Grollo wall that collapsed—what penalty did they pay?

Four people arrested, upwards of 25 people referred for criminal charges. Yeah, it's a joke alright.

Yes this is about Shortarse and the RC dope!

Not to me it isnt. It is about the criminal unions defying a royal commission. They have nothing to hide, right? They've been fined $20M recently in multiple judgments. And the legislation to reinstate the Building industry commission was blocked before and now, it is being reconsidered int he light of their behaviour.

And this is all really helping Labors cote, right? After all, who wouldn't want to vote for a corrupt Shorten and his deep, deep ties to a corrupt union.

Next election to the Libs by a landslide.

Yes in building the only group worse than the Unions are the employers but we can not do anything about that problem can we, what was needed is a whole of industry look see and to not just target a small part of the problem.

Same with Abbotts Union bashing exercise, sure they have found problems with unions but they all seem to relate to corruption in the business side which is happily swept under the carpet.

It is a fascinating exercise to watch the True Believer in action. His beloved union steals, intimidates, threatens, acts criminally and violently and disrupts the industry costing billions. It breaks the law and violates an RC order. And what does the True Believer do?

SUPPORTS IT.

If a business denied you the right to work at all or ensured that your home was blockaded and then lied about it you would be upset. If they entered your home and intimidated you and your family or assaulted you, you would be outraged. And you know what? the rest of us would agree and support you. We would be on your side no matter who it was.

But put the boot on the other foot...

This is why no one takes much notice of hypocrites like you... ever. To you the only crime is to be a Liberal. Other than that, anything goes.

I would call you a moral coward, but that is something of a statement of the obvious.

SUPPORTS IT.

Suggesting that both sides should be looked at for their illegal action is not supporting either side ?

Note: I typed this really slowly so you might get it.

I would think you would need some sense of it yourself.

Look, $3Bn corruption in construction industry.

By construction companies!

Quote:
Construction industry racks up $3b in debt from illegal phoenix activity

At least $3 billion of debts are being shirked in the construction industry due to the insidious and illegal practice of phoenix activity, a Senate inquiry has heard.
So-called phoenix companies are businesses that collapse one day with a pile of debts then rise from the ashes with the same assets and customers to avoid their bills.

They rip people off, go broke and emerge debt-free. It is a practice that has become the scourge of the construction industry.
In the words of the Australian Taxation Office in a submission to the Senate: "Where such insolvencies result from intentional or systematic planning to become insolvent, we see this as a serious threat to the integrity of our financial, employment, regulatory, taxation and superannuation systems – harming both these creditors and all Australians."

http://www.smh.com.au/business/construction-industry-racks-up-3b-in-debt-from-il...

Meantime, the $80m farce known as TURC grinds on, enriching a bevvy of lawyers and doing nothing that normal policing could not have done. And abbott grouches he should still be PM  Cheesy

This is a serious problem that hasn't been fixed. We need much tougher laws to deal with phoenix companies and the laws should be made retrospective to 2003 when the problem first emerged.

There is precedent - when the so-called bottom-of-the-harbour tax schemes were rife, the laws to stamp out that practice were made retrospective.

What's astonishing is that it requires more ID to open a bank account than is required to register a company with potentially millions of dollars in assets. The change is a simple one - require all individuals registering a company to provide 100 points of ID for all listed directors, all directors of a company must prove their identity, and make that requirement retrospective to 2003.

Gillard & Shorten have been before TURC and emerged unscathed. It really is something when a former Prime Minister is hauled before a showcase trial to answer questions about a minor bit of legal work and about renovations to her house
