Well, cods et al, it seems the Commission has no further interest in Shorten.  Gee, I wonder why?

Link.

"At this stage the commission does not propose to recall Mr Shorten as a witness," the commission said in a statement on Thursday.

I wonder what at this stage means to looney toons.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

oh thats right if he says it means will not... then thats what it means.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

If you read the article cods, you will have seen that the 'at this stage' was a caveat against the remote possibility that some third party - not the RC - wanted to ask him questions on the basis that they were adversely affected by the evidence he has already given.

Do I need to explain that any further for you?

The Commission may not yet be finished with Mr Shorten Aussie....How many applications to cross examine Bill Shorten do you think Heydon will knock back???

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/trade-unions-royal-commission-bill-s...

Quote:
Bill Shorten may be recalled to give evidence before the trade union royal commission next month, after inquiry head Dyson Heydon announced a two weeks’ of new hearings into the Australian Workers’ Union.

In a statement released today, the commission’s spokesman said: “The Royal Commission has set aside 10 days for hearings into the AWU in Sydney between October 12 and 23.

“At this stage the Commission does not propose to recall Mr Shorten as a witness,” the commission said.

“However, during the course of the inquiry, affected parties may seek authorisation to cross examine Mr Shorten.”

“In the event that such an application is made, it will be considered in due course”.

FARKEN OATH HE SHOULD!!!

Seriously...  what planet do you come from?

Well who approached who and for what motive neither you nor I know dope!

Perhaps the company wanted the union to settle with a weak set of claims so they bought off the union boss.

we know what the companies have been doing go back to the AWU and wilson/gillard days...its all there.. paying money under the counter into phony bank accounts...all with shortens knowledge..and desperate measures to shove it under the carpet..

to be honest it depends on the outcome....is the person offering the bribe being threatened with something unlawful????.....

what is the money that is taken used for??>.

does it better mankind or just one or two????... Angry Angry

Mr Perth, that is my point.  The Commission itself has nothing more for Shorten.  As is very mundane and normal procedure, he still may be cross-examined by anyone who is suitably impugned by anything he has already said.

No I don't, cods.  Unlike you, I have been part of a Royal Commission (as in, professionally appeared before) and I know exactly how they function.

The present position is that the Commission itself has no ongoing interest in Shorten other than to consider whether anyone adversely affected by his evidence to date ought be given leave to cross-examine him.

Just making a point cods sometimes all is not what it seems.

I am sure some of the union leaders are crooks.

I also know I had a friend through the family who was the head of a national employer group who admitted to me that he had people that stood over opponents and would give them a hiding if need be (unionists, trouble makers)

So as I said, all is not always as it seems

Shorten is still there , could it be possible this expensive witch hunt will have the same outcome as Gillard and the presiding Liberal appointed judge will pass on a verdict of nothing more than an attempt to hand down a credibilty verdict, because they nothing i repeat nothing on them  Smiley
