Greens worldwide duped by Monsanto
Sep 17th, 2015 at 10:31am

As ABC's Lateline puts it:

"Environmentalists used to fight against chain saws, bulldozers and poisons. Now they're fighting 'invasive' species of plants and animals - with the help of chain saws, bulldozers and poisons. Who benefits? Mainly the company that was once their sworn enemy - Monsanto."
http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/latenightlive/greens/6764174

There has been a focus by conservation groups in recent times on removing non-indigenous plant species everywhere in what turns out to have been a mistaken belief that they are a threat to biodiversity.

The research which has led to this action turns out to have been carefully stage-managed by Monsanto and other leading herbicide manufacturers.

The result is that green groups everywhere have been out spraying Round-up with gay abandon (not the lesbian activist), especially along river banks, no doubt killing every plant species within arm's length.
In New Zealand, there has even been arial spraying along rivers, with run off a threat to aquatic life.

Meanwhile the likes of Monsanto has been enjoying bumper sales of its herbicide.

Trust the Greens? Sure can of herbicide.

The Greens are also pushing up the sales of 1080 with their opposition to shooting ferals.

1080 is made in the USA, it's banned there yet the greens don't have any problems indiscriminately laying this poison all over the countryside.

Keeps conservative numbers down. They enjoy dining on carrion.

This so called "nativism" theology of some conservationists is like an anthropogynistic (is that a word?) hatred of any changes wrought by man. In the US it's like an attempt to turn the clock back to pre-1700, so maybe it's just about white man.
We'll destroy everything that man has introduced even if it means other things have to die as well.

Rabid right wing fanatics consider the torture and death of other species, including marine life, as fun and sport.

That is a very interesting post.

I have thought about this in the past.

What about the dingo?

Was it introduced by man to Australia?

Or do we not consider things done by Indigenous people as a man made introduction.

It would not be politically correct to challenge what an indigenous group did.

And that is incorrect.

It should be challenged.

Unless that group is indigenous to UK.

if you have to do a job you may as well be happy doing it. Brilliant stuff that round up. Don't know what I'd do without it.

Roundup is not as good as it was when it first came out.

There is an issue with herbicide resistance in weeds over time but there is more to it than that.
Growing trees to sell, roundup was the nurserymans little helper.
So many trees killed that needed replacing.
Not anymore as much.
It just does not kill as well.

works well for me. Sometimes a little to well, a little over spray and plants I hadn't wanted to kill die.
