bwahahahaha You really want to feel superior to other people don’t you?

The stuff about those fabulous broadbeans (fabulous means belonging to the fables) showed me you have no garden. So probably no husband and twins and all that jazz. So a single bedroom rented flat, a deadend, boring job. Then all the Walter Mitty stuff on the ’net.

In your and Redneck's case, most normal people ARE superior, but don't let it worry you, we don't mind you looking up to us....... Grin Grin Grin

I really use one of those little jars of liquid cleaner where you put the item in the solution for a while then take it out and polish it with a soft cloth.

The clip was a joke but you can get very good polishing versions that I have used on jewellery. Steel is just a different metal but you would only use a fine polishing pad on jewellery.

The liquid jar of jewellery cleaner was the real recommendation to try first.

Nice big zircon—in Tibet silver, meaning next to no actual silver, and cloisonne.

I find a wash in hot water and dish washing detergent cleans it up nicely enough. Had bought a chinese brass candleholder (in the shape of a dragon, of course) covered with candlewax. Looked up how to get rid of candlewax—wash it in hot water and detergent! Did a great job.

Look at this bit of jade carving (photo a bit crap, will try and take a better one:)
...

The dragon candleholder (next to a Dresden figurine, not Meissen:)

Have since cleaned the brass dragon—by soaking it in white vinegar!

Dear Lisa - jewellery is normally cleaned using
an ultrasonic tank with soapy water with sometimes alcohol added to it.

It can be risky as diamonds can fall out of their holders.

It all depends on exactly what you're trying to clean.
With a silver ring you could just use Silvo or Brasso & a cloth.

Not Brasso on silver. Too abrasive.

We have only your word for it.

You must live a really sheltered, institutional, life if you haven’t seen blokes wearing earrings.

Try coming out more.  Cheesy

Corrected.

Soooo....you're an Oxford Street type of guy.

All these years I've been hearing these PA rumours about you.

Finally, today. The truth.

Seems they were right all along about you.

Monk, not only are you a poof... you're also very proud of it.

Goodo lol!

Glad we sorted something out in here today. Tongue

This Thread was about cleaning jewellery, yet you do nothing when the troublemaking is started by Lisa Jones.  Why are you protecting her?
