Yes, pretty much, to Grappler's question, but how long is the attention span?

And no to your question BNI.

Roe v. Wade is a classic example of Judicial Activism....legislation from the bench.

Nowhere in the US Constitution does is say a woman has any right, or any language that might even suggest it, that a woman has any right to an abortion, but that particular court made that dubious right appear out of thin air in it's landmark decision.

Regardless, if something is illegal, no matter what it is, there must be a penalty for committing an offense against the law.....the severity is usually depending on how grievous the offense is.

Theft usually requires a period of incarceration, whereas murder usually requires a much longer term.....& in the USA it may also mean forfeiture of your own life as payment for the wrongful taking of another's life....eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.

➤  ➤  If abortion was/is illegal, unless a woman is forced to have an abortion ... against her will ... & if it's found she is completely complicit in procuring the abortion, she would & should be subject to the punishment prescribed in the legislation that outlaws abortion.

Do the crime.....pay the fine.

Want to listen to the music, you have to pay the band.

Nowhere in the US constitution did it say anything about abortions, either pro or against.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Exactly the point, if any State, prior to Roe v. Wade, wished to make the practice illegal (many did), no Federal Legislation could make doing so illegal. Roe v. Wade made doing so illegal so said the Supreme Court, & it cites a nonexistent 'right' as it's supporting reasoning.

Now, as a result of Roe v.Wade, no State may pass any law halting the practice of Abortion. Only Congress has that power, unless the Court overturns itself that is.

Now we can debate the Pros & Cons of this decision elsewhere, but I think it will cost Trump a few votes, but in the end it wont be a deciding factor....IMHO that is.

My understanding though was that it was made in regards to the due process clause of the 14th Amendment as a safeguard against the denial of life, liberty.

IN this case, it was a balancing act between a womens right to personal liberty and health and the potentiality of human life.

Thus it started off as only allowing states to legislate on third trimester abortions, but was altered to then mena when it would be possible for a foetus to exist outside the mum.

Didn't Trump lose the women's vote over his gaffe about abortion and punishing the woman contrary to Roe v Wade, which stipulated that a woman should not be sanctioned for obtaining an abortion, but stopped short of saying abortion was a right on demand.....?

What does that mean for the rest of the field.... Undecided

The latest I heard is that all he said was that the State laws regarding abortion should remain as they stand, and that those who conduct these abortions illegally should be punished under the existing laws.

The most up to date delegate count to the GOP Nomination:

...

2,472
total delegates were available overall from day 1

1525
have already been chosen to date

947
are yet to be chosen prior to the GOP Convention

Trump Needs
501
of the
947
or 53% to win the GOP nomination

Cruz needs
774
of the
947
or 82% to win the GOP nomination

The failure to attain 1,237 committed delegates by any single candidate would mean an 'open' convention, whereas candidates would need to 'bargain' on the convention floor to secure a majority of delegates to tentatively assure the GOP Nomination.

Money, & political favors have been known to persuade potential voters at times like these.

"Keep this statistic in mind: 81 per cent of this country is either women, people of colour or young adults under the age of 35.

"That's who's voting this year, and Mr Trump has done marvellously offending all three of those groups of people.

"The chance of him winning is only possible if people stay home on election day."

I'm waiting for what Bogarde promised he would do for me: Consume the past 24-hours of news from Germany ... and then digest it in his stomach with the aid of gastric juices ...

... and then pass a highly abbreviated account of the news through his alimentary canal and onto the thread page here for brief and effortless reading.

I don't remember making that promise. But then I've made so many promises in my life that I never kept.
I've not been watching Germany for a day or two.
