My oldest son's girlfriend is a screamer during scary movies.  For the life of me I cannot understand how people can actually be so scared that they scream during a movie.

I've known two women who had the ability to slowly become so totally concentrated and engrossed on what they were seeing on the television that you could stand right behind them and talk to them loudly and they wouldn't hear you.

Total immersion.

Seen the movie but it was released in 1960 anyone who seen it would be at least 75 and probably older.

I didn't like it, the Bates family were nutters.

I did, I'm not, and it was scary.

I probably saw it at a suburban cinema, so it may have been later than city release and I think I was a teenager.

The first time I saw it, the shower scene shocked me. It was 'cutting-edge' realistic horror at that time.

Years later I saw it again - and was shocked once more - but this time because it was so pathetically weak and amateurish.

In those days we looked at movies differently, we understood that the technology wasn't there and we added imagination as a major component.

People today do not look at movies like that.

Never actually seen it right through - just a piece of exploitationist crap if you ask me.  Dumb storyline.... and unbecoming of the director of Rear Window...  The Birds was even worse...
