Never heard of him. He sort of lost me when he used the term 'progressives' as if they were a race of people living in Progress Land, a group and place I am unfamiliar with.

But, I did not get past his first definition of what a 'progressive' is ~ which is, apparently, anyone who believes all cultures are equal. That's when I bid him 'goodbye,' as there would be no-one who would take such a loosely defined position.

So....I'll bet the rest was a diatribe of establishing strawmen, and shooting them down.

Who is this bloke, anyway?

What a classic!

All three - Aussie, Dna, and Brian proving exactly what Condell was saying.

Aussie blocks his ears and goes "la la la la la la la ... " because it's all too much commonsense for his 'progressive' instincts to handle, and then finishes off by asking who Condell is - with a view to not only shutting his ears to what he can't argue with, but also wanting to shoot the messenger "because he's ... " (A, B, or C).

And then Brian - drawn to this thread like a moth to a flame ... does the only thing left to him after Aussie's comprehensive performance as a 'progressive' - he tries to shame the person who has sponsored this short lecture by Condell on what it is to be a 'progressive' - ie. me.

Under different circumstances Brian and his mates would be gate-crashing the back of the hall to shout at Condell on the stage while waving banners saying "RACIST!" ... 'XENOPHOBE!' ... 'HOMOPHOBE!' ... 'ISLAMOPHOBE!' ... 'BIGOT!' - all of which has absolutely nothing to do with what Condell has been saying ... but it wins him props and kudos with his more timid uni mates who belong to 'Socialist Alliance'.

Dna steps in to say 'Aussie' has been quite correct with his assessment, and that he too stopped listening to Condell the moment he realised Condell has analysed him to perfection with the precision of a micro-surgeon, and rather than squirm with inner embarrassment during the entire 6-minute lecture, he has preferred to quit the room while he still has a leg to stand on.

Karnal will be along soon - He just needs a little more time to work on a flash one-liner that has absolutely nothing to do with addressing the actual points Condell has made.

Condell would hate my guts precisely because I am a Social Racist, and I think there's something wrong about walking into your son's class and discovering almost every face looking back at you is Chinese - and the teacher is an Indian.

And everyone working in your local hospital is Chinese or Indian.

And every taxi driver in the rank is from India, Pakistan, or some Middle Eastern country.

And the only Anglo-Australians in our jails are the wardens.
