She is hardly the first 70-something-year-old to make an awkward Facebook post.

But Bronwyn Bishop's choice of Facebook cover photo is a little more unfortunate than your grandparents' endearingly off-the-mark attempts to embrace social media.

That's not to say the aerial shot of the Speaker's leafy Northern Beaches electorate doesn't make for a lovely photo. But it probably isn't the finest choice for a politician who is in hot water for spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on a helicopter flight, before promising to pay the money back.

a photo...  this is all about a photo which presumably she didnt even take.  Perhaps time to not draw into every comment, statement, FB post or facial contortion something you think is behind it. it is possibly just a photo.

It's an unfortunate photo though, both in terms of content and timing.

I agree pics of garbage bins... and dogs piddling would have been much nicer...... oh god....pol suxs and we are discussing facebook....urrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh

really?  because it was taken from a helicopter?  How lame are we getting that we have to infer and read between every line and assume a backstory to everything when it doesnt have any of those things.  it is just a photo, nothing more.

This is not political. This is my pet hatred of people who insist on assuming secret agendas, reading between lines and inferring evil intent in every action. Australians are probably the most blunt and fortthright people on the planet. We say what we mean and we do what we say. We dont talk between the lines so there is no reason to read between them.  it was JUST A PHOTO, nothing else.

I think I will now go to bill Shortens page and look for a post that has two Xs in in. you know, the secret sign of the double-cross which is his favourite activity.

Longy, we're just having a passing laugh.

You'll go crazy if you take politics too seriously my dear friend. Remember, we're dealing with clowns here. I prefer to call them nongs  Tongue

yeah well that was probably Mission Impossible!

you could instead start  a thread mocking PUP  and Palmer. It's not like anyone other than the fake lawyer supports him. Even Pansi has moved on to yet another unnamed minor party.
