Yep, Bill like Tony, will say anything, sellout anyone, just to try and garnish votes.
Post forming government, election promises are out of the window.

That's a certainty for both wings of the liblab party.

The other angle is while labor is bleeding to The Greens. Libs will increase bleeding support to both lab and The Greens.

Shorty also mentioned that he would increase the refugee intake, so there will be some bargaining going on.

I hope the rest of the Labor Party vote this down. It's time to see if they are just 'yes' men or if they have a conscience.

By Shorten owning this sell out, this is now practically Labor policy.
How democratic is this?

If this is voted down at the alp conference, will Shorten step down?

watch the lefties scurry!

Such Fun!

And who would believe Labor saying they will maintain this policy?  Who would trust Shorten of all people?

Lots of entertainment watching the lefties suddenly change their opinions.

Listen. ...

Bull Shitten doesn't do anything like this out of the goodness of his heart as we all know. .. he a Rat..

I reckon he's gotten a sniff of Tania doing the numbers for a crack at being Labor Leader. ..

So he'd rather take another hit in his public credibility which will push Tania into a corner over illegals due to her stance on the matter. ..

She'll have to resign and go to the back bench or look like a Dog like Bull Shitten. .

Good old Billy.... always shoring up his own position by getting rid of others... mark my words friends. .

Oh I think it is pretty obvious that my opinion on this topic has remained static over the past 20 years. If you are looking for someone who has had a suddenlurch to the left I would suggest consulting a mirror.

Tanya won't back down.....I say with a great feeling of uncertainty.

It's politics, it's dog eat dog, anything's likely.

I hope they have a vote of no confidence and Shorty gets the boot, but he must have some idea of the numbers that are in favour of this backflip, surely.

I hope you are right. Abbott likes the Alp under SHorten as they are a weak target, but with PLibersek they would be unelectable.  Bring it on!

Plibersek and Albanese will have to fall in line if Labor lurches further hard right on refugee persecution. They will then have to fight for their seats in greening up inner sydney electorates, where voters are not compassion free zones.

This could be a calculated attack by Shorten, on his competitors for the leadership. A way of getting rid of Albo and Tanya.

So Bill Shorten and all who follow him will now be inhumane racist bigots.
I wonder will the electors see through this. After all they know he is an out & out liar.
And with the Tantalising Tanya breathing down his neck, holding the racist bigot faction together will be a big job.

But instead of mealy-mouthing this as a decision to "save lives", he can't even be honest enough to admit it's about "saving votes".
Yep, I guess on reflection they will see through it.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.
