80% Slaughter To Nasty Cattle Trade
Jul 14th, 2015 at 7:08am

Indonesia cuts live cattle imports

Indonesia will import 200,000 fewer Australian live cattle in a decision that has come as a surprise to exporters.

Live exporters are surprised by Indonesia's decision to dramatically cut imports of Australian cattle.

Indonesia will only allow 50,000 head of cattle between July and September this year, down from 250,000 the previous quarter.

The Australian Livestock Exporters Council chief executive Alison Penfold told ABC radio on Tuesday the quota reduction is significantly below expectations, and has taken the industry by surprise.

Is abbott still planning on sealing cattle roads for Gina with tax payer funds?

Maybe this cut in trade is a reflection of abbott's damage to the oz - indo relationship.

Yeah probably when he stopped sending cattle because of the way they treated them. They made it clear at the time that they needed to have a more secure supply and would work towards that end. Don't know why anyone is surprised as the Indonesians will eventually develop other markets.

Shameful episode.
people who know nothing about cattle saying how a sledgehammer is some terrible weapon on torture when a good blow would cause instant unconsciousness.
cattle have very thin skulls.
here's a clip of a goat head butting a cow and knocking it out.
another billion dollar export industry ruined by the ABC  and inner city green twits. hope they are proud of themselves.
should be a few graziers tying nooses in their barns thanks to the inner city tossers.

Destruction of manufacturing, that's on the coal-litions ledger.
Mining, that's the coalition's fault. Subsidising pass the boom.
Live cattle maltreatment, it's unethical and understandable why the regressives want it.

Do tell us greenie, what are the greens plans for export industries to support all these wind farms and other imported BS you support. to pay for all the welfare and refugees who need to be housed and fed.

Tell us about where the greens think money comes from if not from

mining
farming
fishing
forrestry
tourism in places like the reef

Tell us about how the doctor who now heads your organisation plans to earn export dollars.
We are all ears.

if you cant list any export industries , then i presume you see a very "greek" future for australia.

Better get in the queue to scavenge in the dumpster.
And stay away from the farmers.
We will be exporting to the cashed up asians.
We'll send our produce with an armed escort to make sure urban greens dont get any of it Wink Wink.

Mining is fine, when it's sustainable.
Farming is fine, when it's ethically based and sustainable.
Fishing is fine, when it's sustainable.
Forestry is fine when it's sustainable.
Tourism is fine, when ethical and sustainable.

Just because Greens don't support the destruction of everything for very short term gain and self interest of old party politicians, doesn't mean they oppose business.

Rather, Greens support longterm sustainable businesses and jobs. Something the olds oppose.

i cant see anything wrong with live cattle exports.
i think people who oppose it, are total hypocrites.
when they are happy to eat bacon from pigs confined to a 6ft x 6 ft prison cell but think cattle that have a great life wandering the plains of north qld or the NT somehow need to be killed in some sort of sanitised way so as not to offend their sensitivities.
Words fail me for the ignorance of shows like those on the ABC.
A sledgehammer is quite an acceptable way to kill a cow.
the spanish slowly killing them in the bull fight for sport is unacceptable.
anyway, the industry is going to be sold to the asians now that you have devalued it so much.
congratulations lefties

Maybe this cut in trade is a reflection of abbott's damage to the oz - indo relationship.

When the dim witted leftists and greens stopped live exports it resulted in Indonesia buying a million Australian hectares for the Indonesian beef industry.

Why would Indonesia need to buy Aussie exports when they own Australian farms and all the cattle on them?

Quote:
Indonesia's announcement on Wednesday that it plans to buy a million hectares of Australian agricultural land to raise beef cattle is the clearest signal yet that it wants to lower its dependence on the current live export system.
theland.com.au/news/agriculture/cattle/beef/indonesias-ag-land-plans/2671193.asp...

So what did the Greens achieve last time they tried to stop live exports, did their idiocy result in Indonesia buying over a million hectares to raise their own beef to guarantee live exports will continue?

the concept of a million hectares is lost on an inner city green who lives in a concrete and glass jungle.
the only time they venture out from their plasmas showing non stop ABC and SBS shows is to watch the mardi gras or to restock the gluten free pantry

I hope those who oppose live exports are happy with the result, the Indonesians probably used that $10 million plus a week in foreign aid we give them to make this purchase.
