Lord Janner, British pedophile protected by UK
Apr 29th, 2015 at 6:40pm

The crusty old pervert pedophile is being protected by the British establishment. Freemasons? Jews? Hillsong? or all of the above.

All we need to close this is denizen Herbert joining the accusers.

Lord Janner's alleged victims seek formal review of DPP decision

Move follows criticism of Alison Saunders’ decision not to prosecute 86-year-old former Labour MP over historical sex abuse claims on account of his dementia

A group of people who say they were abused by Lord Janner are seeking a formal review of the decision not to prosecute the former Labour MP following child sex abuse claims.

Alison Saunders, the director of public prosecutions, decided not to charge the 86-year-old peer on health grounds, despite saying there was enough evidence to prosecute for 22 sex offences against nine people.

Janner, who now has dementia, was accused of carrying out a catalogue of abuse against young boys, and more than a dozen people came forward to claim he abused them during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Lawyers representing a number of his alleged victims have written to the DPP to formally request a review of the decision.

Liz Dux, specialist abuse lawyer at the law firm Slater and Gordon, said: “Our clients … very much hope that she gives their request the careful attention it deserves. All they have ever wanted is for the opportunity to give their evidence and to be heard.”

The Crown Prosecution Service faced criticism since the it was announced the peer would not face prosecution.

In a letter to the Times, a cross-party group of MPs said the decision was damaging public confidence, while the deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, expressed sympathy with calls for a review. He added that it was essential people understood how the DPP had come to such a “highly controversial” decision.

“I have to say here is an individual where there are some very serious allegations made and a lot of totally understandable disquiet that he is not going to be facing justice in any way,” Clegg said on LBC radio.

Lord Falconer, a former lord chancellor, said Saunders was wrong, and suggested there should have been an open hearing before a jury to decide whether Janner was fit to enter a plea.

Falconer also suggested a special hearing – known as a trial of facts – could test the allegations in Janner’s absence.

The DPP said she made the right decision not to prosecute Janner, adding that his dementia was so severe he could “play no part in a trial”.

Janner was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2009 and requires round-the-clock care. The Labour party said he has been suspended in “light of these very serious allegations”, but his family has repeatedly denied he is connected to any wrongdoing.

Some have defended Saunder’s decision on Janner. “He is unable to defend himself. No criminal trial could possibly be fair in such circumstances. Any judge would inevitably stop the proceedings as an abuse of process,” said David Pannick QC, who helped Nicholas Purnell QC and lawyer Jae Carwardine in making representations to the DPP that Janner should not be prosecuted because of his mental state.

Here we go yet again.  Allegations of ancient events thrown at someone when years have intervened, and they are no longer the individual who committed the atrocities....in this case.....the passing years have rendered him nutty, something he was not when the alleged events occurred.

I really am against this stuff.  There must be a limitation period, the terms of which I have not resolved in my own mind but it has to be some sort of combination of current age and years since the events alleged occurred.

If, for example, I did something at 22 and you caught me at age 42, fair enough.

If, for example, I did something at age 42 and you caught me at age 82.......nah.

Something along those lines.

having dementia doesnt quite give the victims the justice they seek... thats the trouble...you say a time limit on people coming forward...yet you have no problems with pointing the finger at police when it comes to the Bali 9...no matter how long ago..

you think the parents of a young boy who disappeared for 8 years before his murderer was finally brought to justice should shut up and go away...

yet you would advocate Australia severing all ties with a country that carries out its very well known Laws...

I find that extraordinary. and not very consistent for someone who claims to be an ex solicitor.

I believe the establishment is circling the wagons to prevent further revelations of other pedophiles that would certainly be exposed by a serious investigation.

There is also the case of the enablers who turned a blind eye to the perversions instead of acting appropriately.

I believe the system is trying to prevent the exposure of others and thereby limit the embarrassment of the establishment.

The cops knew about Janner and did nothing. So the cops have a reason to support the closure of the case without prosecution because their own misdemeanors will remain hidden from public view.

Janner has been protected by the establishment since 1991. The enablers are now protecting themselves by preventing prosecution of Janner.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3058177/Home-Office-chiefs-ignored-FOURT...

Quote:
The Home Office was warned that Lord Janner was abusing young boys two decades ago but did nothing about it.

An MP passed a dossier of information to the department in the hope it would kick-start a fresh police investigation.

But instead the paperwork was shelved by officials until it was discovered in 2013 and belatedly passed to Leicestershire Police.

The revelation will heighten fears that the peer, now 86, was the beneficiary of an Establishment cover-up.

The missed opportunity to bring him to justice echoes the case of the late paedophile Liberal MP Cyril Smith who continued in public life despite repeated warnings of his crimes.

It heaps pressure on the Home Office to reveal exactly who knew what and when about the disturbing allegations against Janner. Last night Labour’s Simon Danczuk – who outed Smith as a predatory child abuser – called on the department to ‘come clean’.

‘The Director of Public Prosecutions has admitted there were previously missed opportunities to investigate Lord Janner,’ he said. ‘The Home Office needs to come clean on what information was passed to officials in 1995.

‘This scandal is getting worse every day and the public are rightly angry at the shambolic way this case has been handled.’

Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders sparked fury earlier this month when she said Janner could face 22 charges but his health is too poor to put him on trial. She said that the former Leicester MP was investigated in 1991, 2002 and 2006 but mistakes meant he was never charged.

I don't agree that crimes of this nature should be swept under the carpet just because the accused is in his 80s or 90s, but if he has dementia, it does change the situation.  If his dementia has progressed to the stage where he could be said to be non compos mentis, then there would seem to be little point in proceeding.

The point in proceeding with the case is to expose those who protected him. A police detective was told to stop investigating Janner by a person of high position in the government.

The corrupt people in the police, public service and politics need to be identified and exposed

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/lord-janner-nspcc-head-demands-that-c...

Quote:
A former detective inspector, Kelvyn Ashby, claimed that in 1991 he had found evidence to back up claims that Lord Janner, who at the time sat in the Commons,  had molested a teenage boy in his home and at a hotel. But he alleged he was told “from the very top” to drop the case as the suspect was an MP.

“I felt we had enough to arrest him, but we didn’t because he was an MP,” the retired detective told The Mail on Sunday. “I think we should have done. I was gutted that we didn’t.”

Lord Janner was accused of earlier child abuse in 1991, during the trial of a notorious paedophile, Frank Beck. In his defence, Beck claimed he had tried to stop a 13-year-old boy in his care from visiting Lord Janner and called the alleged victim – who was by then 30 – as a witness. The man claimed that Lord Janner had befriended him and forced him to have sex.

Public pressure is overcoming the establishment's attempt to protect Lord Janner and his enablers. The perpetrator Janner is claiming diminished defence capability by suffering from Alzheimers. However he had sufficient defence capability to transfer his GBP 2 million home to others to protect it from claims against him by victims. The guy is feigning diminished capability to avoid justice and the establishment system is supporting him.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/child-sex-abuse-inquiry-to-invest...

Quote:
Organisations including the Leicestershire Police, the CPS, the Home Office and the care home where Lord Janner is accused of abusing victims in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980, will all come under scrutiny during the process.

Allegations that senior officials also helped to cover up his abuse will also be examined.

The announcement comes after Alison Saunders, the Director of Public Prosecutions, was heavily criticised for deciding not to prosecute Lord Janner, even though there is sufficient evidence to merit a court case.

She has been asked to hand over all documents and evidence to the independent inquiry.

Earlier today, a law firm representing alleged victims became the second to write to Ms Saunders in an attempt overturn her decision.

Peter Garsden, whose firm is representing three clients in a civil child abuse claim against Lord Janner, has said he wants Ms Saunders to disclose the various reports which supported her conclusion.

Mr Garsden said his clients were "outraged", and said they are considering a judicial review into the matter.

Liz Dux, a specialist abuse lawyer at Slater and Gordon, said her firm had also contacted the DPP to formally request a review of the decision.

Ms Dux said all her clients want is ”the opportunity to give their evidence and to be heard“.

Lord Janner denies the allegations against him. His family have said he is "entirely innocent of any wrongdoing".

http://www.policeprofessional.com/news.aspx?id=21708
Quote:
Justice Lowell Goddard, the head of the inquiry examining allegations of a paedophile ring operating in Westminster in the 1980s, is to investigate whether child sexual abuse allegations against Lord Greville Janner were the subject of an establishment cover-up.

Justice Goddard said "public concern" surrounding allegations that Lord Janner sexually abused vulnerable children who were resident in Leicestershire care homes in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, requires a "thorough and wholly independent investigation".

The move follows the seeking of a formal review by the alleged victims to revisit the Crown Prosecution's (CPS) decision not to prosecute the Labour MP on grounds of poor health.

Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders said earlier this month that Lord Janner should not be prosecuted because the severity of his dementia means he is unfit to stand trial.

Justice Goddard said: "The depth of public concern surrounding the Janner case exemplifies the need for a thorough and wholly independent investigation into the adequacy of institutional responses to child sexual abuse, particularly where persons in positions of influence are alleged to have abused children in institutional settings and have, for one reason or another, escaped prosecution over a number of years.

"It would of course be quite wrong to pre-judge the outcome of our inquiries in any way, but there is, in my view, a clear public interest in conducting an exhaustive and critical examination of the institutional decision-making processes in this case and in exposing them to public scrutiny."

The establishment cover-up continues. Dementia and Alzheimers is not a barrier to prosecution as the following precedent evidences.

Janner not too ill to claim expenses
Westminster attendance records show Janner attended the House of Lords almost daily and claimed more than £100,000 in expenses in the four years after he was diagnosed with the disease.
He only stopped attending Parliament – and claiming up to £300 a day for doing so – when child abuse police raided his house on December 2013. Even in that month he attended the Lords 12 times.
Analysis of records shows Janner continued speaking fluently for years after his diagnosis and was also alert enough to claim expenses among the highest in the Lords.
In the 12 months up to April 2009, the year of his diagnosis, he attended the Lords 143 times – only just shy of the 147 maximum possible. And he managed to fill in forms procuring himself £12,075 in subsistence payments and £13,468 in ‘office costs’ – with another £691 in mileage claims for his car.
In the following year, up to April 2010, he attended 136 days at the Lords out of a maximum 142 and claimed £10,986 subsistence, £11,625 office costs and £589 mileage.
In the year to April 2011 he turned up 126 days out of 137, and claimed expenses totalling £34,014. In the year to April 2012, Janner attended 143 days out of a maximum of 156. He also managed to claim a hefty £28,800 in expenses.
In the following year, up to April 2013, he turned up 136 days out of 144, and claimed expenses totalling £24,600.
In April, May and June 2013 he attended every one of the 30 days the Lords sat, claiming a total of £6,450 in expenses. In July he was absent just one out of 20 days, claiming £2,850 for the remaining 19.
And in August, September, October and November, he did not miss a single sitting out of 32 days, and claimed £4,800 in expenses.
Janner’s history and the child sex abuse case he avoided
