there are 100 000 people employed in mining and it receives $5B in subsidies a year
over half the working population works for small business and yet it receives no subsidies.
What a rort.
It gets worse I'm afraid...
The fossil fuel and mining sectors in Australia are 83% foreign owned and pay a minimal level of tax in this country.
There are more people employed in the Queensland Tourism industry than the entire Australian mining and energy resource sectors.
The Energy and mining sectors in this country receive in excess of 11 billion dollars per year, in subsidies, grants and handouts from the Australian tax payer.
Meanwhile the Australian government squeals about funding the health and education sectors and talks about increasing the GST and introducing fees when you visit the doctors
Anybody see the white elephant in the room?
How dumb can Australia become? Is there a limit to how stupid we are as a people.
(One Scandanavian country has had 70% plus taxes on its offshore oil and gas production for many decades. The proceeds going into a national fund to be used for projects of national interests. It currently has over 600 billion dollars in it. Australia is the dumbest nation on the planet without doubt)
