Our local fish and chips shop is under new asian management and the fish is ok but, instead of chips, I ordered a couple of potato scallops and they were lumpy.  Really lumpy.  I had to spit it out.

How can you have lumpy scallops?

One thing that we've had over the past month 6 weeks a few times is fish and chips. .. Shocked

Its like we haven't had them in ages and forgotten about them. .. a.new shop opens up.. we try them out and...YUMMMMMM!!!!!

CHIPS a a nice light, melt in your mouth Flake ... Smiley

you are so lucky.... even the smell of decent fish and chips is a thing of the past.. the last time I ate really good fish and chips was in NZ.. and it was run by an Asian...lol... I am going to London for a few days and its one of the must haves...I am hoping they still have one or two really English fish and chip shops that you can smell long before you get there.. the vinegar bouncing off the crunchy chips...oh I think I will die and go to heaven in a minute just thinking about it.

Grin

I know right... the one thing that gets me these days are the premade chips all cut neatly to size in squares or rectangles... and not many little crunchy ones...  Sad

good luck on your trip when you go.. Smiley

dont forget the fish is mostly frozen and already crumbed and battered...you have to be very lucky to find a real chippie who does everything from the ground up....and just as you do they sell the bloody shop...I hope I have some luck in London it will really ping me off if they have gone to the pack as well.

my mum always bought cod...maybe thats an omen..ha,,ha,,

The quran was not written by allah unless allah has no knowledge of science and historical facts. No quran or prophet mohammed existed until 60 years after mohammed's death.

Tonight I am going to fiddle around and make Arancini.  Italian rice balls with cheese in the centre.  Just a garden salad to go with it.

I have some left over Phyllo/Filo from the chicken, cheese and chive rolls we had last night so I might make some Baklava depending on how enthusiastic I feel.
