It probably depends on the franchise.  My Bakers Delight crusty breads are really really crusty but if you leave crusty bread in plastic it will naturally go soft, it needs air to stay crusty.

Your Bakers Delight might be crap but that doesn't mean they all are.

Bakers Delight also have real health issues as well..Mice have been baked into bread I have been told. So a crusty loaf is the least of your worries..

Yeah, Bakers Delight is rubbish.

Bought a finger bun from the Westfield Marion BD—all air, very little solid bun! Bah!

I like sourdough bread—and am making just about all the bread I eat, a very nice feeling.

it shouldn't matter which franchise .. (and I've tried several of them on the gold coast, brisbane, Sydney and wollongong ) they are all given as part of the franchise strict recipies that they must all follow. Deviate from the recipies agreed to and they risk losing their francise ... thats how franchises work, you get the exact same product no matter where you are.

I think my definition of crusty and yours may be different.

Well my idea of crusty is crumbs flying literally everywhere when you bite into it and having them stick to your lips.  That's what my Bakers Delight delivers with its crusty Hungarian rolls, which I love.

Tonight we are having roast chicken, gravy, roast potatoes, pumpkin, carrots and greens.

I've made tarka dal (sp) and garlic butter smothered takakau (maori, half my heritage, dry "fried" bread). I'm good with veg, my wife is trying to convert me to vegetarian,(wan't when I married her),status, not gonna happen, ffffffffffk that, but I try. Hence tonight's dinner, plus a pork sausage or 2. The sausages and bread were excellent.

my friendly neighbour cooked again today ... a caciattore style pork and lamb slow baked in tomatoes sauce and wine with onion, mushroom, carrot and capsicum (whatever he had left in his freezer) until the meat just fell off the bones, accompanied with spuds (boiled skin on) coated with olive oil and herbs and green beans with vino cotto .... for desert more homemade cheesecake ...

yummy. Not the sort of meal I have a  lot off on the GC due to the weather, but one I enjoy  ...

Tonight I think we are having cumin chicken with pumpkin and chickpea salsa.   My son found it on the net but hasn't totally convinced me yet unless I can think of a suitable substitute for the currants which are in the salsa,

That's unlike you.

My husband is cooking a tongue for my very curious kids to try. I'll be having chopped up sausages and a bowl of mashed potato because I'm sick and whiny and that's a good comfort food.

i usually do a stew and/or soups on a sunday but didn't get around to it because I was working on some projects around the house.. put up a new door and worked on some things outside...

put down a chicken stew tonight but I always give it 24hrs before use, as a rule.. it allows the flavours to sink through...

Olive oil
Garlic
Chicken
Onion
MasterFoods Honey Mustard Chicken Flavour
Potatoes
Carrots
Celery
Broccoli & Cauliflower pack
Cabbage
Corn
2 cans chopped tomatoes
Chicken stock
Water

I think that was it,... Huh
