This was my dinner tonight -
John West mackerel in olive oil, mushroom, Bok Choy,
onion and a dash of Keen's curry powder.
It was very nice indeed.

Amazing that Bok Choy is still so cheap.

$2.50 a bunch is a bargain.

yes - good value but you need to add a spice as I did as it's tasteless.

A simple meal tonight:

Pork steak fried in light olive oil, with Dijon mustard and
Camembert cheese,
boiled potatoes with white pepper,
broccoli steamed for 2 minutes.
It was very nice indeed.

I'm not pretentious about food. Or does my rice seem a bit totalitarian to you?  Wink

On the news reels -
Stalin used to walk into food shops piled high with wonderful vegetables, fruit
and all sorts of fine cuts of meat.
The Russian people all wondered where such a shop was.
They used to line up for hours to get a loaf of bread.

I won't even discuss how much of what you wrote was true.

I'm just asking you: what does what happened a long time ago and in a completely different social system have to do with today's moment?

The point is that Russia is all about lies - always was and always will be.

There are plenty of lies about Russia in "western" fake news media  and the result is delusional paranoid disorder as can be seen in this very thread.

Dinner tonight.

Braised lamb with egg, veges and rice - with light soy sauce.
Yummo.
