From the Live ABC news feed on this seige:
Quote:
Lebanase Muslim Association president Samier Dandan says Australian Muslim leaders are meeting online now to see if the community can help.

Mr Dandan says it is not known who is behind the siege and whether there are any links to the Australian Muslim community.

"But regardless we have a hostage situation. Whether he is someone who belongs to the Australian Muslim community or not, we are still waiting for information to be provided by police and based on that if there's something the Muslim community can do or assist, we are there."

Obviously the majority of Muslims do not support these perpetrators.   They are as alarmed and pissed off as all Australians are.   Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

i doubt that.

Really?  And what, apart from your hatred, bigotry and bias, which you have demonstrated here, time after time, do you base that on Sprint?  You're an Islamophobe, your opinion is tainted by it.   Grin Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

He wants to see Abbott. That's his demand.

I'm tipping Warren Entsch, or perhaps some other coalition backbencher.

This Credlin thing seems to have taken a pretty drastic turn!

Well in that case, police stand down. Send this man Mr Abbott in his budgie smugglers. This will end one of two ways:

1. Abbott negotiates the release of the hostages and looks a hero.
2. Abbott gets shot and does the country a favour.

I expect the PM -- a public servant, after all -- to STFU and serve the public by being on the next chopper to the Lindt cafe.

Well, that's just cowardly then.

It's not over.

The suspect is holding 50 hostages.

I've heard two gunman, and twelve hostages.

Not sure what religion the hostages are, but hopefully they'll let Herbie know soon.

We are well and truly stuffed now.  If you're in Sydney, evacuate immediately!  Run for your lives!  The B-52s are on their way!

So far we haven't seen a representative - or two - from the Muslim community try to approach this fellow.

Maybe he's complaining the parliamentary canteen in Canberra doesn't serve halal.

A sniper could take him out, but they don't know if he's wired to bombs or not.

Yeah they could snipe in.

Can't the police go through the back or come in through roof?

Non-muslims, obviously. Muslims get released in these situations.
Unless they are the wrong kind of Muslim, of course.

I hope the poor hostages can get out unharmed from that religious nutcase.

They may have to take action themselves to do it.
