How do you propose people deal with this "personal abuse" and cyber-bullying, as well as this alleged "moderator favouritism"?
easy ... get a life!
It is that easy , sorry I have to agree
no need to apologise ... I was serious.
If you can't handle the heat on a political forum (and political forums do get heated, it's the nature of politics ) and feel like you are being bullied, then step away from your computer (or join a knitting forum).

I couldn't agree more, I, personally, don't get upset about people's opinions of myself or my views, or anybody else's.
I will admit that arrogance is an annoyance, it's a fleeting irritation, much like stepping on gum or waking up to find your dog has gone to the toilet in your house.
I'm asking for the people who are getting upset, and feel the need to get upset, and go as far as leaving the forum because of it.
I imagine a knitting forum would be quite boring, though I wouldn't be surprised if people abused each other on such.
