Well, desalinisation plants have been put in place to make drinking water from ocean water. It's what they do during a water crisis. Other methods may come along in the future. But I doubt that there is much else that can be done to improve methods already in place.

I would like to see an artificial river system placed throughout the interior of Australia. I know that we have dry rivers that fill and flow during the wet season. But couldn't there be plans for an artificial river system to at least flow into interior man made dams for the benefit of communities that live in those remote areas?
