Would they call Caulfield in Melbourne 'Jew Land'? It is about 50% Jewish.

Middle easterners *DO* learn our language. But learning a language is so much more than simply being able to converse, its ingrained in culture. Why do you assume they want you need to understand an overheard conversation? If the conversation included you as a participant and it involved the likelihood of a sale, don't you think they'd be more than willing to accommodate you as part of it? Grin

. i was referring to the article authors view that native australians need to learn about migrant culture and language in order to avoid hostility from them.

I am not as confident as you that the rise of militant Islam and its enmity toward the west will be over in 20 years, it has a young demographic and is only just exploring and exploiting social media for recruitment.

Further I think there will be an atrocity committed on Australian soil that will increase enmity toward Islam increasing radicalisation.

This is just the first steps on a long hard road of conflict that has been simmering and periodically flaring up for centuries.

20 years ago i was on the pro vietnamese bandwagon, and still am. I run my own show Gandalf and call it how I see it. the Viet kids went to the same schools as Aussie kids and thier parents worked their guts out in the same factories and assembly lines as local born to make a future for their kids. I cant say the same about the welfare addicted Arabs who seem to think manual labour is beneath them.

Considering there are far more arabs doing manual labour than are on welfare benefits - yeah that makes perfect sense.

Also you're no doubt aware that the number of Vietnamese Australians on welfare is far higher than the number of Lebanese Australians - being such an avid fan of the Vietnamese community and all...
