Tip for faster posting
Jul 30th, 2014 at 12:52pm

I thought it was my computer playing up, but I've noticed quite a few posts in duplicate and triplicate here.

When you reply and the post seems to take forever to go through - just use your back button to get back to the thread - then use your forward button to get back to your reply and submit it as soon as the post message button reappears. It goes through immediately.

You can use the same method for modifying your posts.

Sometimes when the post takes too long to process - you lose the link, although you can get back to it by going forward and saving it again.

Maybe it is my computer and all those posts in triplicate are just members exercising their  frustration with the opposition.

By the looks of it Herbert - I might be the only one with this problem. If it doesn't fix itself soon - I'll put up a thread in technical. If it is my computer - then I blame the cat for this. A stray tail keeps pressing the fn button and this might be the cause.

I think it might be some sort of timeout issue of which there are about 500 solutions. If you choose the wrong solution - then you've got to start sifting through hundreds more solutions to fix your stuff up, which of course can lead to even greater problems.

The type of modem you use might have something to do with your occasional slow delivery problem.

The performance here greatly improved when I went from a fairly primitive modem to the one I have now ...

a ... Thomson TG 782T Home Network Gateway (with remote capability).
