Excuse me?  Moses, perhaps you'd care to point to where I have "excused and exonerated" anything?

I merely made an observation.  If you believe that constitutes "apologism" for which "excused and exonerated", then I'm sorry if it alarmed you.  Are you really so unconfident about your own religion that a mere observation about it's treatment of great thinkers some 400+ years ago worries you?

I love the way bootlicking apologists for muslims are forced to go back hundreds of years, in order to excuse and exonerate muslim atrocities today 2014.

Copernicus died in 1543, Galilleo died in 1642.

Grovel you spineless sycophants, prostate yourselves in abject submission before your islamic masters.

Apparently pointing out that Brian likes to hijack threads with his spineless apologetics is undermining Brian's right to point out unrelated issues. Brian is being persecuted, just like the Ahmadis. I'm sure the Ahmadis appreciate Brian's efforts to distract us from their plight with his tales of nasty things happening to white people in Europe a few centuries ago. They'd be like "thanks Brian, the last thing we wanted was for our plight to reflect badly on the Muslims who are trying to kill us, you are the real martyr".

Lord Herbert wrote on Jul 28th, 2014 at 9:16pm:
"A mob in Pakistan has torched an Ahmadi Muslim minority neighbourhood, killing a woman and her two granddaughters after a sect member was accused of a blasphemous posting on Facebook".

"A recent report from a US government advisory panel said Pakistan used blasphemy laws more than any other country in the world.

It listed 14 people on death row and 19 others serving life sentences for insulting Islam".

Yes but Muslims have every right to do that to Christians, because Brian is not a Muslim. Or an African. But he is a 13th century European Christian.

Me too. We 13th century Christians have no right to criticize what goes on in modern developed countries. We prefer to blame the tinted races, multiculturalism, and yes, Islam.

We all blame Islam.

If you see us drop in from time to time with our pages of inspirational Bible quotes and cheery photos of Moslems holding human heads, please say hi.

FD, so, drawing a parallel between how some modern day Muslims treat a great Muslim thinker and how some 15th century Christians treated 15th century Christian thinkers is distracting you from your attack on all modern day Muslims?  Really?

If you weren't so intent on attempting to force us all to conform to your viewpoint, you'd have realised my comment was a condemnation on ALL suppression of scientific thought and knowledge, not just that of 15th century Christians', by drawing a parallel.  But, of course, you'd much rather attack the man, than think about the message that he delivers.  It's far simpler, isn't it?   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

We are raising awareness of the plight of the Ahmadi Muslims.

I see where I was confused now. Here I was thinking we were discussing the plight of the Ahmadi's. Perhaps you thought they are a Jewish sect?

It is a very important message Brian, and I'm sure the Ahmadis all agree it is more important than the suffering they are going through. Maybe one day science will be able to grow a replacement spine. Then you would be able to stand up for the Ahmadis, and it will all have been worth it.

I agree, FD. Let’s all stand up for the plight of the Ahmadi Muslims and blame Islam.

Maybe they can become a Jewish sect and blame Islam too.

I do believe that one day, all men will stand tall and blame Islam together.

Until then, Allah Uakbar.

And how did my drawing of a parallel diminish or distract from that, exactly, FD?

Are you so unable to concentrate that you cannot entertain two thoughts in your head?   Roll Eyes

You do seem to be unable to see a bigger picture, FD.

Ah, so it's not "changing the topic" when Brian does it. It's "drawing parallels". Not to mention a condemnation on ALL suppression of scientific thought and knowledge.

Save the whales, wot. They are being persecuted, just like the Ahmadis. The scientific research must be allowed to continue.

What is science's message, BTW?

We’ll have to ask the 2007 FD that question, FD. He had quite a few thoughts on that.

If he evades, put him in the Wiki with Abu and all the spineless apologists.

This reminds me of the time the Nazis slaughtered the Jews. Is that a good parallel Brian, or do I have to prove the Nazis were Christians for it to count?

Actually, it's invariably making an observation spurred on by the poster whom I am replying to, FD.   You don't seem to have any problem when discussions about completely unrelated subjects are turned to attacks on Muslims but when I make an observation, that is "changing the topic".

FD, you keep turning to personal attacks on me.  I wonder why?  Do you really perceive me as such a great threat to your effort to impose your political correctness on this forum?  I thought you believed in "freeedom"?  Roll Eyes
