Not really. You just have to recite the shahada in front of witnesses to become a muslim. I believe there is quite a long and complicated process required before you can officially become jewish.

That said - I agree with the tone of your argument that the French President shouldn't be considered jewish just because of his ancestry - let alone a militant, pro Israeli one.

Weeeellll, there's becoming Jewish and being Jewish. You might complete all the forms but you won't necessarily be accepted as Jewish. Just look at how the Falasha are treated in Israel. Grin

Please explain the treatment of the Palestinians by Israeli authorities? Please explain the treatment of Palestinians by Israeli colonists?
