Nope I don't agree.
Violent imagery is simply not acceptable.

Attack the policies.
Don't make politics about attacking the politician personally. That's pretty shameful.

Welcome to Australian politics 21st century style.

Mean and extremely nasty.

There was definite shift around 2010.

It'll only get worse while the various parties will only object to the sh!t that's directed at themselves.

To support that kind of thing reflects poorly on people.

This is not Africa.

They don't use imagery like that in African countries do they? Much easier to just go do it, so they do. I'd rather the use of the imagery than the use of a real razor/machete etc. Much more civilised. Anyway, why do you all want to censor the media? I thought that was bad.

And how is that imagery attacking the politician personally?

Welcome to the PG13+ brigade.  Violence has no place in politics in civilised country.  But metaphorical imagery is freedom of speech and the more visual of the point being made the better.

It's time to start giving this imbecile a free ride. No more family picnics while he screws everyone over and over again.

Hey, that's right, don't gag the commie freaks.

Let the real side of the RADICAL left reveal its ugly face.  That pic is gold, Grin  it'll be brought out and shown to real mainstream Australians at every political occasion by Tony's spinners.

It'll be worth 5% TPP on its own.... Grin

They seem to think that because it isn't law, creating a stink, by the worthless pm, is not censorship.

Given the majority of the electorate agrees with the metaphor I highly doubt it.

"Australians… ought to be kicking her to death." Grahame Morris, referring to Julia Gillard (Sky News. 30 April 2012)

"The voters of Queensland, they won’t miss… this Prime Minister [Gillard] and this Leader of the House [Albanese] have got targets on their foreheads." -- Tony Abbott, March, 2012

"Their baseball bats aren’t there for Anna Bligh, they’re there for this Prime Minister" -- Tony Abbott

...
LNP campaign poster, 2012 Queensland state election

"put [Clover Moore] in the same chaff bag as Julia Gillard and throw them both out to sea" -- Alan Jones

"quite frankly they should shove [Gillard] and Bob Brown in a chaff bag and take them as far out to sea as they can and tell them to swim home" -- Alan Jones

"you should be put down" -- Michael Pengilly, Liberal MP in the South Australian Parliament, talking to a female ALP Minister

Andrei Hicks, does that mean you denounce this and other violent imagery against Gillard, her government and the ALP in the past three years? Yes or no?

Gillard had to put up with a lot more than that for the best part of three years, including incitement to murder from Abbott himself.

Who is advocating murder?

Tony Abbott, Alan Jones and others of that ilk started this kind of political attack.

What has become of this country that our politics can only now be PG13+?

I couldn't believe reports 2 months ago (now) that people were proud to call the March in May protests a "family day outing."  NO!  Protests are MEANT to show the force of the people, the anger of the people! They aren't meant to be for people to sit down, grab a balloon for the kid, have a barbecue and play with the dog.  If you want that, go to a park!

And now this:

This fantastic metaphor on the actions of Tony Abbott has been withdrawn because it was seen as "too violent." The very "man" himself, Tony, suggests that it would lead to violence.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jul/03/tony-abbott-calls-razor-against-nec...

Clearly, the image is meant to be a metaphor, but let me say this: I am disgusted by the left for standing down. This imbecile has:
1. Placed a razor against the throats of our weakest, our pensioners, our unemployed, our disabled
2. Broken international laws and is now reportedly sending asylum seekers back to their country of persecution WITHOUT assessment.
3. Tried to break apart organised workforces, and is continuing to try.
4. Wants to destroy our environment
5. Has gagged debate, and is now looking at NSA style surveillance laws

Yet, with the absolute bullsh1t that has gone on over the past 12 months, that would make ANY left wing ideologue absolutely throw up, and any extremist right wing nutjob jump for joy, what do we, from the left do? We go on "Family day outs" and remove metaphorical imagery becuase it is seen is too violent.

This is why the left will never win.  It is no longer about fair play to spread your message. That went when people like Bolt, Jones, Tony, Albrechtsen got into the arena. And that's why they'll win, because they'll punch whatever is necessary to punch while the left has been taken over by people too scared to offend anyone.

Truly pathetic, Red Flag! Go out and stand for what you believe in! "One Cut I'd Like to See"

Whats killing off the left is it's slavish devotion to the rights of Asylum seekers at the expense of everyone and everything else.
We have a government who declared war on the Australian people and the left is fighting back and pouring endless reserves into a counter attack. The problem is its not the Australian people they are trying to defend but the asylum seekers.
The biggest victims at the moment are Australians themselves, especially the poor, the young and disabled.

We are at the cross roads where the only thing keeping the government from condemning our most vulnerable to a lifetime of indentured slavery is a rag tag senate. I never thought I would see the day where a collection of political misfits would speak with more concern for the rights of the poor than the left.
