Deflection—and the shambles haven’t been in 12 months yet.

Love the smell of Lib desperation.

BILL Shorten's office has admitted he workshopped a question with a Labor member who later posed it to him and Anthony Albanese during last night's Labor leadership debate.

The revelation has sparked the first sign of tension between the rival camps, with Albanese supporters accusing Mr Shorten of setting up “Dorothy Dixer” questions to make himself look good.

Mr Shorten's spokeswoman told The Australian the Labor leadership contender received a call on the way to the debate from a supporter, who wanted to ask a question.

“(The member) wanted to discuss the sorts of topics which might be covered,” the spokeswoman said.

“(Bill) had a question the day before which members seemed to be interested in, about what kind of prime minister (Bill) would like to be, and (he) mentioned that.”

She said Mr Shorten thought it was a positive topic to give them both a chance to talk about the future and their individual passions.

The conversation was initially revealed by a disgruntled cab driver, who accused Mr Shorten of being “dismissive, elitist and rude” during an eight-minute journey to the debate venue in Sydney yesterday. Mr Shorten has called the incident with the driver a “misunderstanding”.

The driver, David, told 2GB's Steve Price: “He got straight on the phone to someone and said `Hey big boy, ask me this - Albo will be fine with it - ask us the type of prime minister we would like to be remembered as'.”

The workshopped question was the first to be posed in the debate.

I'm certainly not.

Everything I predicted about this sham 'government' has come to pass, and more.

They are a disastrous failure, in EVERY way.

Well, no.

Not unless you believe Liberal spin and corrupt journalism.

Fortunately for Australia, most of us with more than half a clue simply aren't buying it.

No - grasshopper - the cannibalistic instinct of the animal politic is beyond the understanding of the mere mortal.  In wisdom do you seek to know the inner workings of the labrynth that is this animal.  It is possible your time better is spent on considering the ways of the animal politic who you currently revere and seek to know the truth of his ways.

(gongs fade, temple chimes ring on in the cold shan-tang wind, a horseman appears on the horizon, that old prayer wheel.. well - she just keep on turnin'...)...

Cods, here comes a cheap shot.  That was reported by the Murdoch Press on the 25th September, 2013.

This may not work given Murdoch wants us to pay to link to his Articles.

Shorten will not contest the next election.

Bill has run as fast as he could to the bottom.

I can't see any reason or need to remove Shorten from an ALP pov.

Unless...  he just happens to get caught up in the Union RC shenanigans or the AWU shenanigans or both.

Then they may wish to change leader yet again.

Wishful thinking. Who's leading in the preferred PM ratings?

If there's one leader that's not likely to contest the next election as leader, it's Abbott with 60% disapproval. If that ever drops to 70%, he's gone.

Didn't Rudd change the rules for changing the ALP leadership?

A vote by Labour caucus and party members and all that?
A process that takes f-cking ages going off the post election leadership selection?

I'll call bullshit and an attempt at diverting focus from the current woeful polling by the Libs.
