"Pensioners To Consider Protest Rally"

Australian Pensioners should Protest at parliament house [....construct a 'Pensioners Embassy' ?], and demand that Tony Abbot calls a new election.

All the pensioners should be entitled to be given new elections - UNTIL WE ALL GET THE POLLIES THAT WE DESERVE
UNTIL WE ALL GET THE - PROMISES - THAT WE DESERVE!!!!!          Smiley

What do ya think ?         Cheesy          Grin

It's good in theory, unpractical though. Most pensioners don't live anywhere near Canberra. Cods can, but she likes the government that takes from the destitute to give to the wealthy.

There will be nationwide protests on August 31st.....get out there and join one Yadda, you can do some bible bashing at the same time, you might even get a few converts.

Maybe it's about time the government kept THEIR end of mutual obligation (what a joke!)
and raised No-Start to a liveable level?

And please don't try to tell me that it is enough to live on, or that they 'don't deserve it'.

And MOST of those on the dole wouldn't be there if there were JOBS.
Exactly.

Mutual obligation includes an obligation by the government to create jobs, not destroy them.
Mutual obligation includes not allowing 457 visas to be rorted to deny jobs to unemployed Australians.
Mutual obligation includes identifying and removing barriers of entry into the workforce.
Mutual obligation includes not allowing discrimination against the unemployed when hiring.
Mutual obligation includes providing real assistance to allow people to get into work.

The government has failed its obligations on all these counts.
VERY well said - for too long this 'mutual obligation' has just been another Newspeak buzz word for saying 'You'll take it and you'll like it!  Jump through the hoops as we dictate or die...."

Absolutely!  When you put on the purple mantle of the Caesar, Tony and the rest, you take on the purple prose of those you seek to beat up in any way to push your own and your party barrow.

When yo force people onto social security, and off work, as a  matter of government policy, then you accept the bills for keeping them alive and well.

End of discussion.

I hope the pensioners and unemployed burn Canberra's Capital to the ground and raze it, sow it with salt...

What a load of absolute Bullsh.t,

It is NOT the responsibility of government to find you a job. You find one in the economy yourself by interacting with fellow citizens who want to buy your labour,

What next,

Demanding that the government find you a date, a partner or a lover.
You have got some seriously demented ideas

Perhaps not.

But it IS their responsibility to provide assistance. Hence the CES, and now JN.

But the mutual obligation BS has historically been ALL one-way.

And the govt's biggest breach of many is in not raising No-Start to the same
rate as the pension and indexing it to the min wage.

jobs are created in the real economy (real jobs that is) by business.

governments role is that of an umpire in a football match . to keep business honest and apply fair rules.

government should never touch the ball whilst it is in play.
government should never make a tackle.

you lefties have completely f^^ked up ideas on what government can, could and should do.
