No takers? Ok, lets try correct Christian punishments

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_and_punishment_in_the_Bible

The Bible prescribes the death penalty for the following activities, among others:

Murder[13]
Adultery[13]
Bestiality[14]
Rape[15]
Sodomy[16]
One man picked up sticks on the Sabbath, he was taken into custody because a punishment was not known. The LORD told Moses that the man in custody must be killed. This particular crime and punishment is isolated case law.(Numbers 15:32–36)
A betrothed woman who does not cry out while being raped[17]
A woman who is found not to have been a virgin on the night of her wedding[18]
Worshiping other gods[19][20]
Witchcraft (Exodus 22:18)
Taking the LORD's name in vain or cursing his name[21]
Cursing a parent[22][23][24]
Kidnapping[25]

I havent seen your best at all, but then again i shouldnt hold my breath for it.

im not talking about how many were killed, im talking about Islamic law and what the koran dictates about the apostates of Islam,

But if your after statistics about people butchered under Islam for being christian, maybe you should check the stats all over the net of christians getting persecuted and butchered in the middle east today and the christian population in the middle east is dwindling and decreasing in numbers because of it.

But i expect you to turn another blind eye to that Ian.

Quote:
Careful observers, as the sociologist Introvigne can have an idea about the numbers, based on various criteria of largely unnoticed and ongoing phenomena. According to the British Times about 15 percent of Muslim immigrants to Europe have abandoned Islam and become Christians. In the UK the number is now estimated at 200,000. In France, every year about 15,000 Muslims become Christians, some 10,000 of them Catholics, the rest Protestants of various denominations, especially of independent churches.

yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda.....

ian,

Two points which you did not specify;

"The Bible prescribes the death penalty"
- upon whom ?

And upon whom - for what reason ?

Hint;

A COVENANT PEOPLE

Exodus 19:5
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
6  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
7  And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do.
And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

Leviticus 20:22
Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them:......

Leviticus 20:24
.......I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.

Leviticus 20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Those penalties were to be against covenant breakers [among the children of Israel].

Against persons who had made a solemn agreement to keep themselves HOLY [in the presence of their God], but would count their covenant with their God as of no important 'consequence', and not worthy of keeping.

ian,

Is God unreasonable
- to require that people who have made an agreement with him [God], and then break their part of the agreement, be punished, be killed ?

Not in my book.

I don't like people who make an agreement with me,     ....and then later, 'break their word' [when they no longer want to do what they have agreed to do].

People who 'break their word', are unreliable.

Isaiah 48:10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Daniel 12:10
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

True logic, you've taken Jesus's words out of context. He was talking to the Jews whom glorified themselves for following the commandments while not taking care of their parents. Paul said false idol worshippers deserved death not that they should be put to death. Anyway, Paul is not The Lord but a spokesman as fallible as any other man.Where does Jesus say that any christian that renounces their religion should be put to death? Mo on the other hand  did evil deeds and spoke evil words all throughout his life.

Paul is a prophet in Islam, just as Mo is, peace be upon them. Prophets are as fallible as any man, effende.

Salaam salaam.

As far as eternal damnation is concerned, I'm only concerned about laws and government in this wordl. That's why I said 'not one in this world'. As far as where we spend our afterlives, thats everyone for themselves.

True, but for some reason, they all seemed to have a taste for young flesh, from.Abraham to Joseph of Nazareth.

I imagine all their young wives looking after them in paradise, insh’allah, praise the prophets names.
