as I said we deserve to know their names, their ethnicity, age and actually be able to see them, I don't care who they are, I need to know who I should keep my kids away from. It might be a lawn mower, occasional private care taker, or.. taxi driver...
No it won't. No taxi driver, convicted of an offence like this, will have access to a Cab.
And this assurance comes from you personally or is this a broadly known fact?
Maybe it will help if I explain that, following retirement, I own, operate, and drive Cabs here in Queensland. I know the system intimately.

I can only respond from a Queensland perspective. To get a taxi driver's licence, among other things, you go through a Police check. A conviction of a taxi driver for an offence like this, involving the use of a vehicle, would automatically lead to a disqualification of not only the bloke's taxi driver's authority, but also his normal driver's licence. Keep in mind, that if this bloke is convicted, he will be going to prison, and if he gets out, he will never get a taxi driver's authority.

"Out of the mouths of babes" comes something people in Victoria (and in any other State considering de-regulating the taxi industry ~ as Victoria was conned by that idiot Fells) need now be very alert to. Yeas, that is possible in
Victoria since the Fell's inspired de-regulation. It cannot happen here or in other States where there is very heavy, and very active regulation.
