Here are 12 things that Barry O’Farrell and the Liberal Party promise before the election. Let mark off any that they back-down on, do back flips on, retreats on because of no money left by Labor, flip-flops or wimp out on for any other reason.
1) “We are not closing schools, hospital or planning massive privatisation or job cuts.”
2) “We will not cut the number of public holidays in NSW.”
3) “We don’t have a default position that says privatisation is in our blood.”
4) “There are no plans to hire Peter Costello, Gary Stugess or Ken Baxter.”
5) 100,000 jobs will be “targeted” for creation under Jobs Action Plan.
6) Work on the north-west rail line will begin in the first term.
7) As the economy improves there will be a need for “more, not less” public sector jobs to fix NSW.
8) Family members of politicians will not be hire to work in ministerial offices.
9) The coalition will depoliticise appointments to the senior ranks of the public service.
10) Train fares will be cut by more then $100 a year.
11) The old politics of smear and fear and untruths is in the past.
12) No offshore outsourcing of public sector jobs or services.
