In Paris I made friends with a bunch of American students, one of who bought and complained about, a Big Mac EVERY NIGHT! Surrounded by wonderful food this idiot bought fast food every night. Another one got wasted on Algerian plonk every night—need to be 21 to drink in the land of the free.
If I was in Paris, my fast food choice would be Moules aux frites (Mussels with chips) or possibly a Sandwich Tunisien or Tunisian sandwich.
A Tunisian sandwich is consists of half a baguette (or one of those square rolls, smeared with harissa (hot chilli paste), finely diced tomatoes, cucumbers, green capsicums, red onions, pickled radishes, chopped potatoes, tinned tuna fish broken up into chunks, green and black olives, red pickled chilli peppers, pickled vegetables known as torshi, olive oil, salt and pepper and a hard boiled egg chopped into chunks.
They usually add a splash of fresh olive oil right at the end.
