There definitely would be some items that will float for a long time. Even a foam seat, but not even that has been recovered to identify with the plane.

Funny thing is, I was watching the flight simulator of that particular type of plane, and once the fuel ran out, it showed the plane going downwards in a spiral action, but tail first....seems logical, if you drop something with a heavier end on it, wouldn't the heavier end go downwards first to smash?

In a vacuum, I can drop a full can of beer at the same time as I drop an empty one.  They will hit the ground at the same time.

Gravity pulls them both down at the same rate.  What will obvious affect how it spirals is engine power (or the lack thereof), and aerodynamics.

Really, I think we can safely assume it didn't make a perfect swan dive.

Smells like a cover up to me. Somewhere, someone thought the SAM wasn't armed....

remember how long it took them to find the Titanic.......

I know today is different but the massive stuff up.. and yes I agree a cover up from the first moments.....because I doubt even K.L could believe this thing was missing...

but since then... who the hell would know what went on..?

they spent so much time investigating the pilots..

yet less time on the phony passports.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I seem to recall them straight away dismissing terrorists.

Something else I remembered with the flight simulator, showing the behaviour of the plane, when it runs out of fuel, the whole plane shook, and the steering shuddered somewhat, the expert saying this is what no one wants to ever experience, this is it, and down she goes.

So I wonder if this shuddering tilts the plane somewhat, to determine how it would go into the water?

Who was controlling the plane externally all that time?
With the pilots and the whole lot of passengers presumably dead from the sudden drop from being up so high (as was discussed earlier).
Then the transponders were shut down, and the plane went under the radar.

It doesn't sound like it was on auto pilot.

Are you sure thats exactly what happened, planes are supposed to have hydraulic back ups etc for controls if they run out of fuel. They dont just drop out of the sky.

Oh yeah, they do drop down, and assuming that plane was on auto pilot, when the fuel ran out, it will try and keep the nose up, but the plane will still fall, downwards, doing a belly whacker when hitting the water. This in itself would break the plane up into a zillion pieces.
Now if it wasn't on auto pilot, how would it react then?

We can only go by what the simulator is telling us, but apart from that, the missing flight, is like a bad movie with no ending, and the directors giving up and telling the audience to make up our own endings.

Just to show what they mean by a plane 'just falling out of the sky', the air france disaster, did just that, and hit the water on it's belly. It did not break up as it was falling, but as it hit the water.

MH370: Radar Detected UFO Before Jet Goes Missing; Malaysian Air Force Head Reportedly Confirms Sightings
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 12:11

By Susan Duclos

Australia International Business Times offers up a theory about the missing Malaysian Flight 370 and the 239 people on board, that many discarded outright when it was first posed, but that has been confirmed by the head of the Malaysian Air Force.

Evidentally there were two “anomalies” spotted on radar which are officially listed as unidentified flying objects, spotted around the same time that MH370 mysteriously disappeared. One of those UFO’s were spotted and highlighted by videographer DAHBOO7, which will be shown in the second video below. A circular object that takes the shape of a “plane” and speeds off far faster than any of the other planes shown on the same radar screen.

...

UFO blogger also documented a confirmation by Malaysian air force chief Rodzali Daud that military radar received signal from an unidentified flying objects near the location where MH370 reportedly vanished.

“Malaysia’s air force chief, Rodzali Daud, said military radar detected an UFO in an area in the northern Malacca Strait at 2:15 a.m. local time on Saturday about an hour after the plane vanished from air traffic control screens,” UFO blogger reported.

Whether one believes aliens captured MH370 or not, these anomalies are not explained and one has to wonder at the coincidence of there being a round UFO, suddenly showing the appearance of a plane, but traveling at speeds five to six times faster than all other planes surrounding it.

Definitely a mystery!

yes they still will not say what happened

Ummm thats a  picture based on ATC radar using transponders. Unless the UFOs had the type of transponder we use in our planes, they wouldnt show up.

Optical illusion or......MH something?

Mysterious if this happens to be a Malaysian passenger plane, sitting right where everyone was looking originally.

New York pilot claims to have found images of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370

Michael Hoebel, 60, said he had found an image of what appeared to be the plane in one piece in the Gulf of Thailand — the exact place where the missing Malaysia Airlines plane made its last communication with air traffic control before falling silent in the early hours of March 8.

Using the online satellite imagery website TomNod, Hoebel said he was shocked to find the plane resting in what appeared to be an unbroken state.

The Usual Suspects again?

Why are we not surprised?

Incidentally ~ why couldn't they have sent a vast squadron of drones to film the suspected area of impact?

Distance vs flight range.
