adelcrow - Conroy didn't nothing of the sort. Conroy made it his personal mission to publicly humiliate a sworn senior officer of the Country when he knew full well that the questions he was putting to him, the General could not answer under the provisions of secrecy in regard to Operational matters he was bound by.
That turd Conroy crossed the line, everyone is saying that including many of the Labor heavies. They are distancing themselves from him like he has just caught Leprosy, which he has.
He is now officially a pariah.
That emotive outburst is a refection of the faux indignation Abbott has cheer lead.
Conroy (turd or otherwise) crossed no line at all. At a Senate Estimates Hearing, where people present themselves to answer questions from our elected representatives, not only are Senators given the duty of asking questions, the unelected person appearing is expected to answer....and answer with total honesty.
The unelected uniformed LNP ADF Uncle Tom General refused to answer a question put to him by a
Senator.
Guess what happened next?
This was entirely predictable and it was the subject of critical discussion at high ADF level when the bloke accepted the job. When he took this on, while he got an extra star and a pay rise, and wore the uniform of an Army General (as part of Abbott's fanfare that we were at War,) in fact, he had become a political puppet, and he was not smart enough to understand that elected Senators would have an interest in his political activities, done on behalf of his political masters, not in defence of Australia against a belligerent armed invasion, but something entirely different............either invasion by our military of Indonesia, or of piracy on the High Seas, or, an on sea repudiation of our International UNHCR obligations.
Either way, he, at Abbott's request, is acting illegally, and when he refuses to answer a Senator's question.........he is truly 'covering' what he is up to.
