Actually no they're not. Their attack on Morrison has been extremely limited and muted - precisely because they would be attacking their own policy.

Thus far, labor attacks is literally restricted to the secrecy issue. If they can fly to Indonesia, they can fly here. That they try to sneak in the back door shows they are of suspicious character. It's that simple. They also wouldn't bypass countries that are UNHCR signatories - real refugees would stop at the first safe place they could find, not take a treacherous journey across the ocean in a leaky Indonesian fishing boat.

Greens oppose the boats as much as anyone. They wanted them stopped, they wanted the smuggling trade broken - they just refused to support punitive measures against asylum seekers to achieve it. The Greens released a policy of ferrying asylum seekers by plane before they got on to boats - and this policy was even copied by Clive Palmer.

If the Greens policy was implemented, boats would have stopped overnight. We also wouldn't be wasting billions every year on offshore detention centres, and we wouldn't be seeing asylum seekers being murdered by people we outsource these detention centres out too.

Labor went from dealing with four or five boats a week (still bad) to seeing 2 and sometimes 3 boats arriving each day when onshore processing and releasing detainees into the community came into being. It did absolutely NOTHING to deter people smugglers or their human cargo - it simply encouraged them to send more.

Of course it was a disaster - because it wasn't the greens policy. Labor did nothing to help people who were resorting to jumping on boats. The greens had a solution to stop the boats - by removing the need for boats, and it would have worked. If you people insist on using the "saving lives" argument, then you have to accept that the greens solution was the most viable.

The words Green and Solution should never be used in the same sentence

There is no solution on this people are to divided on this issue there is a hell of lot misunderstanding on both sides. Financial pressure on the ecconomy, a underlying growing resentment and fear of Islam, will continue to see well intentioned plans and programs apposed. Politicians will use the hype to distract the population from their failures domesticly and not be held to proper account for their failures at home. They will continue to wastes our taxes on numerous bs expenditure at home and use the cost of border protection and the demand for foreign aid as a excuse for budget difficulties. Nobody is even slightly concerned about the amount of money we spent to get a seat on the UN then contravene there findings and orders wtf is up with that. I'm fine Australia not being part of the UN and making our on calls on issue, but the fact is we are part of it and quite proud of that fact. I think it's just for show and only when it suits our politions.

Wow really you need ask that, maybe the fact that they are coming out of war zones and until they are processed we can't be sure of the security risk they present but in order to process them they need to get here catch 22.

Seriously, people who can take the flight do it - you realise heaps more asylum seekers come by plane than by boat right? Lets see - option 1. pay for comfy air flight direct to Australia, no hassles. option 2. pay a people smuggler about 10 times more to get on a leaky boat crossing open sea to get put in mandatory offshore detention.

hmmm tough choice there right? Unless of course, they don't have a choice.
