Actually no they're not. Their attack on Morrison has been extremely limited and muted - precisely because they would be attacking their own policy.

Thus far, labor attacks is literally restricted to the secrecy issue. Only the greens are attacking the overall policies related to punitive measures - offshore/outsourced processing, detention run by untrained thugs, and of course the whole "we're going to punish you for seeking our help by resettling you in 3rd world poo holes" thing.

If they can fly to Indonesia, they can fly here. That they try to sneak in the back door shows they are of suspicious character. It's that simple. They also wouldn't bypass countries that are UNHCR signatories - real refugees would stop at the first safe place they could find, not take a treacherous journey across the ocean in a leaky Indonesian fishing boat.

A true refugee would be eager to prove his claim of persecution therefore, he wouldn't throw away his documentation.
Documentation wouldn't prove persecution.

These illegals are just looking for an easier life for themselves and their clutch.
1. They're not "illegals".  2. Nothing wrong with striving for a better life.

Most of their womenfolk are good but have to keep their mouths shut.
So, you're a sexist bigot?  Hmmm.

Documentation wouldn't prove persecution.
It would, however, prove their identity and allow authorities to verify and assess their claim.

Is it sexist and bigoted to state the obvious about how women are treated in some of the countries in question? Of course not!

Incorrect: they are not illegal immigrants.  Somebody has given you the wrong information.

You definitely can't prove or disprove anything if you can't verify their identity and country of origin and that's only possible with a passport.

Check the Department of Immigration's website - they're clearly defined there as illegal immigrants, not irregular arrivals, the absurd name given to them by Bowen as if they're users of some infrequent and legal ferry service!

Nope. They are not defined there as illegal immigrants.

I see another boat load of illegals were returned to where they came from.

That must be a kick in the nuts for labor who were totally useless in dealing with a problem they created.

It's the 7th boat returned to Indonesia.

I can't understand why the Indonesians are not too happy about this turn of events, and why they keep denying they know anything about the launching of these boats from their shores.

And why aren't the Indonesians returning these orange boats that the Liberal government has been using to send these human contraband back to Indonesia's safe shores?

It's taken decades, but at last we've got a no-nonsense prime minister in Tony Abbott who isn't afraid to give the Indonesian leadership a good kick up the arse for their years of cheeky mischief with the boat-people.

The value of every lifeboat not returned to us should/could be deducted from our aid budget to the indons. A lot of that money goes straight into the pockets of the crooks at the top so it should get their attention

Good thinking.

But I doubt very much that even Abbott has the balls to make these deductions.

Maybe he will if he gets in for a second term.

The luvvies will say that Foreign Aid is all going to the poor and the needy, and that it would be them who suffer. Utter nonsense, of course.

Quote:
Leading British politicians want their country's aid to Nigeria stopped, asking why Britain should give over £1billion in aid to Nigeria which is spending hundreds of millions of pounds on its own space programme.

Nigeria has the second highest national income of all African countries and is to receive £275million from the UK this year alone, with a further yearly average of £250 million until 2015.

British politicians are angry that despite almost 70 per cent of the population living on less than 64 pence a day, the country intends to send astronauts into space in the next two years.

You ain’t no christian and that is for sure.

More a hypocrite—approves of people being imprisoned without hope for the crime of wanting to escape persecution and seek asylum and make a new life here, then on Sunday you go to church and think yourself a fine fellow!

Real christians are christians seven days a week.

You are a phony christian.

Yes there is. Strictly speaking, 'You ain't no Christian'  would mean that you are saying that I am indeed a Christian.

As a Christian, I support a policy that has prevented seeing people dying at sea, like the 1200 who died under the watch of Labor and the Greens.

Where would you prefer to see them die?

.In their own countries preferably

Fair enough so let's cut our associations with the UN it costs us big time and stop pretending we give a dam. I'm fine with that, not fine with being a hypocrite pretending to care about what happens to other people. Stop spending money on foreign aid or sending our troops to fight for people we don't give a dam about. Spend our money building the country and defending our position.  Fair enough ?

Excellent commentary, Rubin. You're beginning to get your priorities right.

When our aborigines want for nothing, and are fully assimilated into mainstream society and reaping all of its benefits ~ maybe then we can start looking further afield to spend our charity dollars on.

But for as long as we have ... Quote:
"over 800 aborigines sleeping in the streets every night in Darwin"
.... then charity needs to be spent at home until our own house is in order.

We still come out ahead even factoring in the cost of these lifeboats.

83.5% of all country shopping economic migrants surveyed were still on centrelink up to 5 years after arriving here.

The unemployment rate for those who do not speak english is 100%

The governments resettlement survey has these figures.

Why do we give Indonesia over $10 million per week, that money could be spent on Australian industry.

Or more orange life boats.

Where is our Foreign Aid disappearing to in Indonesia? Isn't the money to fund humanitarian projects?

So after all these years of donating Foreign Aid to Indonesia why do prisoners in their jails still sleep on thin mattresses on the floor in small cells with a dozen prisoners in them?

Let's stop making fools of ourselves with these Third World gangster countries that secretly hate us for humiliating them with our charity donations.

*******

I noticed tonight that Abbott is still going ahead with his stupid and expensive 'Paid Parental Leave' scheme. What an idiot. Why not give them a free trip to Disneyland while he's about it?
