The deterrent was established under the ALP. What was not established under the ALP and has occurred under Morrison's direct ministerial responsibility is the 'murder' of an asylum seeker in a place, a detention centre, where Morrison has said he could guarantee safety.

No Aussie, no! no! no! Kevin Rudd set up Manus Island.

The Liberals inherited a barrel of worms from one Kevin Rudd who is the author and therefore if there is a villain, then it has to be him.

Scott Morrison stepped up to try and make this load of crap that was Labor's legacy into something resembling sanity.

Morrison has succeeded. The boats have virtually stopped. The Manus Island detention centre is a hand basket from hell, dumped on the Liberals by Labor and given time, Scott Morrison and the liberals will sort this hand basket out.
