Muslim ‘Enrichment’ in Britain: One Week Snapshot

The celebrants of multiculturalism constantly remind us of never-ending invigorating cultural enrichment, so just for fun, I thought I would make a note of some stories involving Islam or Muslims in Britain over a one week period.

The week I happened to choose was between Thursday 23rd January and Wednesday 29th January 2014. There was nothing significant about those dates, and it was selected entirely at random.

To set the scene, just before the week in question commenced, the Home Office announced that high-risk terrorists will be released from prison and will not be monitored properly, to protect their human rights; a Muslima redefined British legal history as she stood trial in a full face veil; there were reports of a serial flasher (urinating) in the Blackburn/Accrington area; an Islamic teacher guilty of groping pupils; and reports of murders and rapes going unreported in no-go zones for police as minority communities (AKA ‘Muslim’) launch their own justice systems.

So what could happen in the week I chose? Having followed the exhilarating enrichment that Muslims bring to the rich tapestry of modern Britain for a few years now, I was certainly not counting anything either in or out, so here goes! It really was like having a blank canvas!

Thursday 23rd January
•News broke of a police search for an ‘Asian’ (politically correct euphemism for Muslim) who reached over and groped a woman’s breast whilst aboard the 184 Manchester to Huddersfield bus earlier in the week.
•Two female students from London appeared in court after one of the accused tried to smuggle £16,500 in her underwear to terrorists fighting in Syria.

Friday 24th January
•DittaSentencing of Lee Rigby’s killers, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, was expected today but was delayed due to an appeal over whether whole life sentences can be given.
•Blackburn: ‘You’ve messed with the wrong Muslims!’ CCTV images show three women trying to kidnap and rob their sister’s lesbian lover during a row over arranged marriage. Seamless integration is awarded with a combined 30 years in prison for the six siblings (Pictured here).

Saturday 25th January
•(Video) London: Islamists demonstrate in support of Al-Qaeda in Syria, against FSA. No sign of ‘anti-fascist’ protestors either. Of course that would be ‘Islamophobic’ of them!
•‘Brits’ returning to the UK from Syria will be ‘stopped at the border and face arrest’, with 16 arrests made so far this month.

Sunday 26th January

•Sunday is no longer a day of rest in today’s vibrant Britain as residents of Nelson discovered when an intimidating group of 5,000 Muslims stormed through the town to celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Pictured here is another show of force in Blackburn. I cannot see any females in the photo. Who knows, maybe the women are at the back?

Monday 27th January
•Rochdale Councillor and Council Finance Chief, Farooq Ahmed, quizzed by police over ‘homophobic’ insult made at a fellow councillor in public.
•News of child exploitation/grooming gang in Newcastle-upon-Tyne emerges today and by Wednesday a total of 25 arrests had been made. No news on the identity of the perpetrators at the time of writing, but this type of crime is dominated by Muslim men, and the focus of the investigation is in the west end of Newcastle, which is home to a large Muslim population.

•Leeds: Takeaway restaurant workers Mohammed Hussain, Shah Miah and Harris Uddin (Hussain and Uddin are illegal immigrants) were jailed after grooming vulnerable youngsters for their own sexual gratification, including raping a 12 year-old.
•Burmese freedom fighter and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, has been nominated by the ‘Islamic Human Rights Commission’ for an ‘Islamophobia Award’.

•Self-styled Muslim ‘spokesman’ Mohammed Shafiq of the ‘Ramadhan Foundation’ attempted to redefine free speech by stating on national TV: “You cannot go around promoting offensive cartoons“. This remark was in response to a tweet made on January 12th (Yes, still rumbling on over two weeks later!) by Maajid Nawaz, the co-founder and chair of the anti-extremism think tank ‘Quilliam’. The tweet had a ‘Jesus and Mo cartoon’ depicting Jesus and Muhammad saying Jesus_and_Mo2‘Hey’ and ‘How ya doin’” to each other (pictured above). Nawaz received death threats for this tweet, and so called ‘moderate’ Muslims (including Mohammed Shafiq, who is a prospective parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats, and interviewer Jon Snow pointed out to Shafiq that his behaviour is neither ‘Liberal’ or ‘Democratic’) have been ‘outraged’ by the tweet and called for Maajid Nawaz (including circulating a petition) to be removed as a prospective parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats. (It has been subsequently announced that Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, will not drop Nawaz as a parliamentary candidate). Channel 4 for their part showed dhimmitude by blocking out the image of Muhammad (pictured above), but rather interestingly the image of Jesus – whom Muslims also consider to be a Prophet of Islam – remained and there has not been a word mentioned about that. Needless to say, there has been no Christian outrage over this cartoon, although Jesus socialising with a murdering paedophile could be deemed offensive to some!
•Maajid Nawaz issued a statement today stating why he tweeted the cartoon:  “My intention was to carve out a space to be heard without constantly fearing the blasphemy charge, on pain of death,” he wrote. “I did it for Salmaan Taseer, the governor of Punjab who was assassinated by his bodyguard for calling for a review of Pakistan’s colonial-era blasphemy laws; for Malala Yusufzai, the schoolgirl shot in the head by the Taliban for wanting an education; and for Muhammad Asghar, a mentally ill British man sentenced to death for ‘blasphemy’ last week in Pakistan.”

Wednesday 29th January
•It has been revealed that a Muslim group hired a room within the House of Commons, but they had to pray inside an empty bar, and subsequently they have hurt feelings.
•PM David Cameron said that the UK will act “with the greatest urgency” in offering the “most needy people” in Syrian refugee camps a “home in our country”.
•Mohamoud Elmi’s trial started today, and he is charged with attempting to murder a police officer who was stabbed inside a mosque. Elmi also alleged to have attacked two worshippers who were injured during evening prayers.
•Lee Rigby’s killers Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale are a step closer to being sentenced after an appeal challenging the use of whole life jail terms was heard.
•Wellingborough: Man arrested for distributing ‘terrorist literature’.
•Birmingham: Mohammed Liaqat Ali found guilty of murdering his estranged wife at her home after a long-running argument about the ownership of land in Bangladesh.
•A gay rights group has criticised the East London Mosque for defending a “homophobe” who declared gay people should be severely punished under Islamic law.
•UK prosecutors have asked Pakistan to trace two suspects believed to have been involved in the 2010 murder of Imran Farooq, a senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He was stabbed outside his home in Edgware, London, close to the Pakistani political party’s international HQ.

Why do they fight?

The Muslim ex-soldier, who speaks fluent English, teaches weapons skills and warfare tips, such as how to cope in a fire-fight.

Worried security services are keeping tabs on the danger man, who calls himself “Chechclear” – a reference to a gruesome video posted online showing Chechen rebels beheading a Russian soldier.

MI6 and other Western intelligence agencies fear the ex-serviceman’s terror tips could be used on British soil as jihadists return from the Syria conflict.

The Dutchman, also known by his surname Yilmaz, has been in Syria for more than a year fighting against President Bashar Al-Assad’s government.

He carries out drills in a secret training camp while wearing his old Royal Netherlands Army uniform. Last year he appeared alongside two jihadists from London, Mohammed el-Araj, 23, and Choukri Ellekhlifi, 22, in an Instagram picture. Both Brits have since been killed.

The Foreign Office believes around 350 Brit jihadists have travelled to Syria to fight – but French president Francois Hollande reckons there could be up to 700.

Hollande made the claim following talks with David Cameron at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, although senior Whitehall sources later played down the figure.

So far up to 50 Brits are believed to have returned to the UK from fighting in Syria.

Last month there were 15 terror arrests in Britain linked to the conflict.

MI5 director-general Andrew Parker has said Syria is taking up a “growing proportion” of the agency’s work.

Last week Yilmaz, who is of Turkish descent, told Dutch TV he had been asked to train foreign fighters because of his military background.
