Limit to size of a topic?
Jan 27th, 2014 at 1:38pm

I posted to NBN progress?, but the post failed to appear. I noticed that the last post that displays is #929 but, when I hover the pointer over the last post in the Politicians Suck index, the tooltip shows #928. The 'Replies" column also shows 928. Investigating further, I find that there is a post before mine that doesn't display.

I couldn't find anything in the help resources. By the way, http://www.codex.yabbforum.com/, which is the link from this site's help page, didn't work. The link in the YaBB site is http://www.yabbforum.com/codex/.

I presume there's a limit to the size of topics. If that's so, then could this topic be split (say, at post #800)? Unless someone has a better idea, of course.  Smiley

It MAY be mixed up with the following "known bug" or not, as the case may be.

However, on this occasion there were actually 3 posts banked up, until I gave them a little Bump, (3 of them in fact), which will eventually pop up up.

Have you not seen the many *bump* *flip* * *F* *1* *2* posts I, and others have made to get the page to flip?

I normally let the next post bump by surprise and I have learned that it is good to sometimes just let it go.

Thanks. I thought that only happened with one post. When I saw another banked up, I thought it must be something else.

Maybe the bug is growing.

None of us need have to do anything.  I have never seen this happen on any other Forum.  Come on FD......it is fixable.

Been doing that for a while - think it has something to do with page changes but it does not relate to number of posts - some very short topics can suffer as well, just adds to the fun.

Sounds like the known bug that Perce linked to. It is a server problem.
