Keep trotting that graph out Chimp.

Maybe one day you'll actually convince someone that it is 'how skeptics see' etc, rather than the opinion of a person so stupid he thinks that ALL climate skepticism is either paid for by the mythical 'Big Oil' groups, or is the result of religious fundamentalism..

Fundamentalism, world view, belief system, whatever. I've seen no rational reason for denying the judgement of the majority of the best qualified.

Of course, to some, it's obviously a conspiracy. In my view, the credibility of a conspiracy theory is inversely proportional to the necessary number of conspirators. From what I've seen, the Great Global Warming Conspiracy must be a doozy!

Well no, there isn't a 'conspiracy' in the classic sense. Read the full text of the article lee link, the author puts it very well. It's simply human nature working.

'Leading climate scientist Kevin Trenberth has told reportingclimatescience.com that he believes the pause in global warming may be caused by long term changes in the Pacific Ocean.

Trenberth and colleague John Fasullo argue in a new scientific paper that the massive El Nino Pacific Ocean warming event that occurred in 1997 and 1998 triggered the pause. They say that the El Nino caused a large loss of heat from the deep ocean to the sea surface that resulted in a cooling of the oceans. Since then the deep ocean has been absorbing heat back from the upper ocean and so cooling the atmosphere.'

See not Watts again. Roll Eyes

paranoia?

Edit: What's the point in putting links in plain sight, which you obviously don't read? To put your Skeptical "conspiracy" theory out there?

Not paranoia, just trying to figure out what you think you see. So what did Watts tell you to think?

The Trenberth and Fasullo 2013 can be found here-

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/2013EF000165/full

In the conclusion he references Kosaka and Xie (2013)-

'Yet they were able to reproduce many aspects of the observed changes from 1970 to 2012, including the changes in global mean temperature and the recent pause in warming,'

My bold
Kosaka and Xie is a paper on the PDO.

So now we have two natural variables for the pause. Which you and Chimp_Logic have been denying.

Have I? Where?

I don't claim to know anything about climate science. For me, the only cogent facts are that the vast majority of the best qualified have a consensus opinion and no organisation of reputable scientists disagrees.

Nah, just the same bloke who's had the denysosphere all agog recently, playing up the uncertainty that nobody's denying and cherry-picking as usual. I'll stick with the vast majority of the best qualified, at least until one organisation of reputable scientists disagrees with them.

Sorry, you do not appear to have used "no pause".
You have used "not cooler", posted articles denying a pause in response to such claims; with the addendum "Inconvenient truths  seem to have querulous Conservatives soiling themselves."

But never actually stated "no pause"

No, climate scientists went from being ordinary drone researchers 'that guy in the lab down hall' sort of thing, to basic rock stars of the science world that everyone wants to talk to, and that heads of government listen, to pretty much overnight. Suddenly they are getting offered more money in one grant than they'd received in decades, plus all expenses paid invitations to dinners, symposiums and conferences in exotic places all around the world. Of COURSE that's going to have an effect on them, and if they didn't want it to continue, they'd need to locked in a rubber room for their own safety..

Can you substantiate any of that rant?
