the religious people are the ones that INVENTED welfare.  we are the ones that STARTED almost every school and university on the planet.  We are still the ones that run virtually every private school and every private hospital.  Social welfare and housing support is largely done thru church charities.  And this is all paid for out of Christians AFTER-TAX income.

we give money to the poor.  we give them clothes, houses and teach their children.  and what do you do?  sit around and bitch about it and then makes excuses for killing the inconvenient by products of your own lusts.

And guess who was the 1st to bash & denounce the Pope and his comments,

THAT'S RIGHT,  RELIGIOUS CONSERVATIVES, the ones that condemn & pass moral judgement from high on the mount

Thanks for those links dsmithy.  But unfortunately they just verify what is becoming increasingly apparent.  Christians are increasingly the least christian people on earth. You just have to count the Christians on this forum bitterly opposed to helping refugees (as christ taught you should in his parable of the Good Samaritan) compared to the non christians who advocate a compassionate approach. And I dont even want to talk about young Matty who declares himself a christian with each post and yet speaks with such contempt for aborigines - pathetic.  Well, lets hope this Pope can turn them back to Christ.  Oh and BTW I particularly liked this from one of your links :

The Pope has also emphasized environmental awareness as part of his critique of the capitalism, writing:

“In this system, which tends to devour everything which stands in the way of increased profits, whatever is fragile, like the environment, is defenseless before the interests of a deified market, which becomes the only rule.”

Sooooo true.

Pope Francis seems like a fine man, but where did he do his Economics/Finance/Accounting degree?

You don't need a degree to understand the impact of trickle down. Just eyes, a brain and empathy.

The trouble with 'trickle-down' economies, is that the trickle dries up
once it reaches the middle-class.

The working class and those on welfare always end up with nothing.[/quote]
Hence the sex pistols success!

Maybe ossie osborne had a point saying fairies wear boots but johnny had a point when he asked billions if they ever had the feeling of being ripped off!

The poor are engineered: what does barnaby joyce mean when he tells a live national australian audience that we all know free trade zgreements are a euphemism??????

Growth economies slowly add the poor: oh look you've won the lottery! Dodgy theories backed by standing armies and nuclear might got attacked and why would it stop?

Just because americans no longer travel the world thinking they're untouchable ..... well i suppose it does help to try the small target strategy but lol war is conducted in the economic sphere so.....

What a giggle. The left hate the Catholic Church and all it stands for, in fact they hate all religions except maybe Islam and that only because of their radical mindset against western values.
And yet a Pope says something vaguely aligned with their own misguided philosophies born out of envy and they're all over him like a rash.

That's a pretty extreme interpretation of trickle-down theory. Sounds like the pope is building a strawman.

War is conducted in the economic sphere: what is your interpretaton of trickle down theory?

Trickle down can work in a business model but only when the employees or Unions are strong enough to squeeze a few bucks out of the bstds.

Otherwise they will just keep the lot.

Francis is spot on. Trickle down never works. It is just a theory expounded by the rich and powerful to ensure they stay that way.

Xactly: a fairy tale!

Your old & a little simple so let me explain at least my POV

I do not hate the Church or any religion

What I despise is the leaders & so called followers of these worthy ideals blatant hypocrisy.

As light points out, the Catholic church alone could solve poverty, yet it doesn't.

No ONE single person on this forum that claims to follow Jesus Christs teachings comes even close to the Jesus Christ I was taught about.
In fact they more often than not support the position exactly opposite to Jesus's teachings.

Money is the New Golden Calf, & your all worshiping at it feet.

Quote:
23Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Sorry are you saying that if you disagree with a person about something then you must disagree with him/her on everything or if you and he/she agree about something else you should never say so because that would be illogical and something to giggle about? You reason like a school boy. No wonder you're sucked in by the trickle down theory.
