Hands up anyone who could have predicted the Queensland political year that was?
Premier Campbell Newman prides himself on his ‘Can-do’ brand – it is what brought him to office back in 2012 and acts as both a promise and a threat.
Mr Newman has never backed down from something he believes in – be it the bikie legislation, the size of the public service or his overall plan for the state.
As the state slides towards an election year, you can expect to see the government and its leader take more of a softly-softly, happy-happy approach, but that is not to say that Mr Newman has any plans to slow down.
Expect Ashgrove to be a major buzzword this year. But as for what else the Premier has planned – well, we’ll all have to wait and see.

Lets see, before and during the election, the public service was safe from him, but hell, he poopered scoopered that damn quickly. The bikies, never see them being arrested anymore, it is fare evaders now and the police given a quota to fill. The state credit rating dropped, cost of living hasn't gone down and the unemployment rate has gone up with more mines closing then are opening, the environment has been trampled and farmers forgotten in favour of CSG, while the tourism push seems to have evaporated, a stupid idea to replace the much more lauded CRRT, and the list is near endless.
Yeah, he should be worried, no one in QLD wants him, or his tunnels. Let the BCC council broke, doing his damn hardest with his nepotism and jobs for the boys to repeat his failure.
