I think those born at the shallow end of the gene pool will quite happily get rid of themselves.

A woman killed by an express train had walked around boom gates and into its path, Queensland police say.
It is believed that the woman was running late for a different train that had stopped at Cannon Hill station, in Brisbane's east, and didn't see the express service coming when she walked on to the track.
Inspector Joe Jaramazovic says investigations indicate that the woman walked around the traffic barriers in Barrack Road, near the station, after she unsuccessfully tried to push open a pedestrian gate just before 7am on Friday.

Pointing out that stupid people sometimes die at their own hand, yep I feel terrible

We had a moron up here in the 'ville commit a robbery by punching out a plate glass window, he and his brother grabbed what they want and bolted. What he didn't realise he cut his brachial artery in the process, well his brother kept on running and he bled to death on the footpath a few metres away.

Like i said sometimes stupid people kill themselves, I neither feel respect or sadness for them.

why do you get so upset when people merely point out the obvious?  There is no other way to describe anyone, that would bypass safety barriers and walk in front of a train, other than stupid ... if you can think of a better, more apt description please share.

My view is it's unfortunate and tragic and quite sad. Who knows why this poor woman was so desperate to catch a train that she risked her life. She made a tragic decision.

Life has many branches and turnings and your fate depends as much on good fortune as good decisions. How many people die for reasons out of their control because of acts of god or the negligent or irresponsible acts of others.

How many people have gone through a red light either deliberately or  by mistake and risked death and lived only because they were fortunate at that time there was no collision.

This poor woman was obviously frantic to get somewhere on time.

The difference between life and death in this case may have been less than 1 second.

The abuse of this woman by posters is totally shameful.

As an ex-train driver for 38 years, I could give numerous experiences of close shaves, but luckily for me, no incidents where someone got killed.
I agree some crossings are potential death traps, but nothing can be completely fool-proof and people have to take some responsibility for their actions.
I feel sorry for the woman's relatives and also for the train driver, but please, don't speak badly about the dead.

It's a real mystery to be killed by a train at the level crossing. No doubt that the media will spin it so that the railway is at fault.

I have been present in the cab of a train when it hit a car on a level crossing.

Not something you want to go through, believe me.

It would if they knew the woman and her family, or if they were going out of their way to be hurtful by posting on her facebook page . But what you're saying is not really a part of the human condition. There's subjective and objective and a difference.

it is unfortunate and tragic, but nevertheless the result of someone doing something stupid. We're not talking about someone mistakenly running a red light ... a rail crossing has barriers to stop you, you cannot cross accidently ..... any attempts to bypass them are considered and deliberate.

The fact that she may have been frantic to get somewhere does not change that. It doesn't make it any less of a stupid decision.

She didn't make a tragic decision, she made a stupid decision that resulted in tradgedy.

We really know nothing at all, she could've deliberately ended her life and it could've been a very wise decision.

What's shameful is your attempt to make peoples objectivity shameful. A fact is a fact...... & as such this woman regardless of what her reasons, or what was going on in her life .... made a stupid decision!

She certainly hasn't been personally abused here & your suggestion that she has is melodramatic BS.

It is also shameful of you not to consider the affect this has had on the train driver.

I drive freight trains in suburban area & I have worked on the suburban passenger network ..... railway lines are to idiots like the full moon is to looneys.
