The police force management should be compelled to resign over this incident. Clearly officers are being pressed to increase revenue and maybe they are getting a bonus for incriminating innocent civilians.

This is corruption!

Please don't thank me. Effusive fawning and obeisance of disciples, mendicants, and foot-kissers embarrass me.

OOOh!  Sort of Slumdog Ex-Millionaire?

Must be a deep social allegory in there... ya gotta work out the 'spine' of the idea - what does it all hang on... and then work your scenes and characters into that.. gotta have conflict and gotta have a serious change in your characters...

Don't forget Hanging at Picnic Rock Cafe With The Boyz and stuff...

Does he meet a dream girl with a yob accent and a bogan taste in clothing and men with two kids with six dads, and find true love?  Then she dies of a tequila overdose or something?

Saturday Night Greaser.. the only way out of this slumhole is finding something you're good at, like poncing around on the dance floor.. just drift away on the wings of music and dance... for a few hours...  What is there in the Dandenongs that fits there?

(ah-hu, ah-huk.. we got tha Sat'dee Night car drags on th' ol' highway... young man can find himself in that)...

Exactly.

People just don't seem to understand what the word "limit" means.

Hey Greg - They're only 95-100% sure that a given motorist is speeding. So the science isn't settled. It's just a theory.

And that's why they get their chance to argue their case in court.

One of the reasons people speed is because the roads are so badly planned. Especially in Sydney where I live. Spend 2 hours to travel 40 kms and you don't get the most patient of drivers. You'll spend when you want to get home.

Even the police realised it was nothing more than grubby grab for cash and recinded the ticket, pity you're not as rational and intellegent as they are.

Low  level speeding fines are nothing more than state government cash cows to fill government coffers and nothing at all to do with road safety, only a moron would try to argue different.

No doubt you'll give it a go, but.

Yep, there are lots of reasons (excuses).

It's still against the law though.

The vilest form of corruption is the way the 'courts' allow, condone, support, promote and applaud just this sort of behaviour.

Why was it again that with every successful revolution the first to the wall are politicians, judges and police and abusive public servants and rich guys?

Has anyone been fined for not breaking the law?

i.e. not exceeding the speed limit?

I was fined for doing 56 in a 60 zone. Officer claimed that I was driving in a school zone, even though he was 150 meters beyond the school zone where he pulled me over. His deposition was damning enough -- strong words for a speeding fine -- to warrant a cancellation of the fine. He didn't produce evidence of myself being caught speeding, he didn't show me the radar gun (minor point), he showed photographs of where he took the radar reading from (clearly showing the 60 sign in the distance), etc. I contacted the police station to confirm whether the police can take measurements for speeding outside the speed zone. They weren't interested in concerning themselves giving an answer.

The judge just took note of my admission to being the driver of the vehicle who received the fine -- found me guilty based on that. Increased my fine by $100, and made me pay added court costs. Just about doubled my fine for doing the speed limit.

In that case, you were fined for doing 56 in a 40 zone.

Only you would justify a government making laws for the sole purpose of stinging motorist to line their own pockets.

If they fined stupidity, you would be broke in a week.

BTW Im more than happy to break these stupid laws, the QLD government doesn't bother to provide enough tax collectors to bother us too much.  Grin

Stinging motorists who break the law.

Why do you have such an affinity with criminals?

Make enough laws and soon enough everyone will be a criminal. See, inttellegent people know the difference between just laws and unjust laws, you don't, but the rest of us do. This is why you thing everyong who does 1 k over the limit is a 'criminal'.

Just never pegged you for a goverment yes boy, but there you go.
