Fact is.....they were just having a drink together after work and three were truly 'family' + two friends.  It is not known that they were 'reported.'  The Yandina Hotel is a very regular watering hole, and the Cops may have just done a random audit of its camera footage.

You must have read a different account. In the one I read, it said that they were reported. It didn't say that they were family and two "friends" either.  It just said that the police did not confirm or deny that some were related.

Aussie probably heard the details via the Cabbie Grapevine.  Wink

so the police say they were known criminals..

so if you saw a group of men together and you knew they robbed houses as a career..

you FD would turn a blind eye as they were only in a group chatting...even though they happened to be in your street...OK..

you hold no fear and have faith in all human s.. thats great!

Everyone who has been to prison is a known criminal.....

Does that mean they should not be free to have a drink with friends?

Nope.

It means they should not be free to have a drink with other known criminals who are members of the same organised-crime gang.

If they want to have a drink with a decent member of society, that's fine.

I'd be more worried about people that are actually committing crimes, rather than those that are minding their own business.

I have to laugh when i read posts like this. Of course criminals should be allowed to go about their business unhindered, what is wrong with solciety when it discriminates against criminals eh? How dare we clamp down on organised crime.  Soicoipaths are just misunderstood human beings and need a cuddle. This is the whole probloem with people like Pansi , they sleep safely in thier beds at night but have no idea how they are able to be safe, the rose coloured peace and love hippy glasses are permantly welded to thier heads.

I notice Pecca still cannot bring himself to even mention words like freedom and justice. All he can do is parrot meaningless accusations and insist that because he thinks they are scum it is right to lock them up for nothing.

Not just me.

Ask the police who arrest them.

The judges who sentence them.

The victims.

And not "for nothing".

Bikies are self-proclaimed criminals.

Who are the "victims" of them meeting up for a drink?

Society.

you mean IGNORANT society members who think there in danger by a group of bikies assembling together. Every person at that resurant at the Gold coast could have and should have left that night, then their wouldn't have been this public outcry fueled by the media with all the cell phone footage.

Now that goes close to being the most ignorant statement made in this thread. Actually it's more than ignorant ... it's stupid. Why should the general public have to get up & leave when anyone causes a fracas in a public place .... bikies or not? Roll Eyes And why should the restaurant by expected to lose customers?

Quote:
Three of the men, patched Rebels bikies Steven Smith, 28, and Paul Lansdowne, 57, as well as Smith's brother-in-law Joshua Carew, 30, were already facing charges including trafficking and production over an alleged methamphetamine ring.

Quote:
The trio are being held in the Brisbane watchhouse with Smith's brother Scott Conley, 36, and Dan Whale, 26, who were also at the Yandina pub on November 1.

Here ya go Muso:

Quote:
The other four are Steven Michael Smith, 28, of Yandina, his brother Scott Michael Conley, 36, of Yandina, long-time friend Dan Whale, 26, of Yandina, also known among his friends as Dan Black, and Paul Jeffery Lansdowne, 57, of Eerwah Vale.

The men, who police allege are Rebel bikies or club associates, have been identified in CCTV footage as associating together in a public place on November 1 - a crime attracting a six-month jail term under the Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment (VLAD) laws.

Do you have a better plan? A father and son were arrested for having a drink together.

I have faith in justice, human rights and fundamental freedoms. I do not have faith in politicians declaring who are the bad guys so they can arrest them even if they have done nothing wrong. I would trust one of those bikies over Campbell Newman any day. None of them have taken my freedom. Campbell Newman has.

We are able to sleep safely not because of cops putting bikies in jail, but because Australians have died trying to stop megalomaniacs like Campbell Newman who see justice as an inconvenience to be pushed aside for political gain. It is you who is naive. Your attention is so easily diverted away from the real issues, just like the Germans who so gullibly believed that the Jews were such a threat to their society that it warranted the bypassing of freedom and justice.

nonsense, the more I read your posts the more I see an extremly naive person with little experince in the real world. You sleep safely because as Winston Churchill once said, rough men stand ready to visit violence on those whom would do you harm. No other reason.

The bikies wish me no harm. Campbell Newman does. If you expect those who wish you harm to openly advertise it as they take your rights away, it is you who is naive.

Criminals will be brought before the courts. If they are found guilty, they may go to prison, they do their time, they come out.......

then they are free to live like the rest of society

Ex criminals are not criminals, they are EX criminals.

I am able to be safe because we have laws and justice and courts, not because some power hungry midget man enforces his own style of wild west law.

Roll Eyes

You left out "self proclaimed" Pecca.

Just in case you want to practice your English a bit more, I have added a term for you:

freedom of association
justice
collective punishment
presumption of innocence

Yep.

"The men have been charged ... and are due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

"Police will allege ...

"At this point we will allege ... "

They'll get their day in court, just like everybody else.

Yeas, they are (allegedly) Members of the local Sunshine Coast Rebels, many of whom I have had in my Cab.  Good blokes.  Polite, well behaved, and no sign of any anti social behaviour.

By way of %, I reckon there are more thieves and thugs among Cabbies than there are among Clubs like "Rebels" etc.

Time for a lesson in English. Let's play, finish the sentence.

At this point we will allege ...

... that they talked to each other at a pub.
